Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was rushed to the hospital early this morning after accidentally shooting himself in the leg due to a misfire from his licensed revolver. The incident occurred around 4:45 AM while he was checking the weapon before an early morning flight to Kolkata. Reports indicate that the bullet struck his knee, and he was immediately taken to CRITICare Hospital in Mumbai, where he was admitted at 5:15 AM. According to hospital sources, Govinda is now out of danger, and the bullet has been successfully removed. His manager, Shashi Sinha, confirmed the incident, stating that the revolver accidentally discharged when it slipped from Govinda’s hand.

The police have arrived at the scene to investigate the incident and have taken the revolver into custody. Govinda’s family has yet to release an official statement regarding his condition, but sources close to the hospital assure that he is recovering well.

Govinda, a Bollywood legend known for iconic comedy films like Coolie No. 1, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Partner, and Raja Babu, has been largely absent from the film industry in recent years. His last appearance was in the 2019 film Rangeela  Raja, which unfortunately did not perform well at the box office. After a series of box office failures post-2007, including films like Kill Dil and Aa Gaya Hero, Govinda has taken a step back from acting. Despite his recent struggles in the industry, he remains a beloved figure from Bollywood’s golden era of the ’80s and ’90s.
