Ishaan Khatter Reveals First Look Of His New Comedy Film ‘Jugaadu’

Ishaan Khatter announces comedy film ‘Jugaadu’ with director Palash Vaswani as the team gears up for a Punjab shoot this month.

Ishaan Khatter has officially announced his upcoming comedy entertainer titled ‘Jugaadu’. The film will be directed by Palash Vaswani, who is known for shows like Gullak and Bada Naam Karenge. The makers have confirmed that the film will begin shooting in Punjab later this month.

Ishaan shared the announcement on Instagram with a picture of himself holding a clapboard with the film’s title written on it. He wrote, “Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for #JUGAADU -My first in and as! Cooking with an incredible and passionate team to bring you this riot of an entertainer in cinemas soon,”. Soon after the post was shared, fans and industry friends reacted with congratulatory messages. Actor Vishal Jethwa commented, “Congratulations So excited for this one.”

The film officially started its journey with a mahurat ceremony held in Mumbai on 30th April, 2026. Along with Ishaan, the cast includes Abhishek Banerjee, Jameel Khan, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Yamini Dass, Sukhwinder Chahal and Nirmal Rishi among others.

For Palash Vaswani, ‘Jugaadu’ marks his first feature film as a director after working on popular streaming shows. The team is currently preparing for the first shooting schedule in Punjab.

The film is being produced by Ramesh Taurani, Pammi Baweja, Harman Baweja and Jaya Taurani.

On the work front, Ishaan was last seen in Homebound, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. The film tells the story of two childhood friends, Chandan, played by Vishal Jethwa, and Shoaib, played by Ishaan Khatter. Set in a North Indian town, the story follows their dream of becoming police officers while dealing with social and personal struggles. Their lives change when their exam results get delayed, creating uncertainty about their future and affecting their friendship.

Ishaan is also preparing for Season 2 of The Royals. The makers had earlier announced the new season on Netflix with the message, “Old money, new blood, and a new season is in the works. The Royals Season 2 is coming soon, only on Netflix.”

The first season of the series also featured Bhumi Pednekar, Udit Arora, Zeenat Aman and Sakshi Tanwar. The show follows Prince Aviraaj Singh, played by Ishaan, as he struggles to manage royal responsibilities after the death of his father, King Yuvanath.
