Though the naysayers were highly pessimistic about the Holi release date of the Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer, KESARI, but the knowledgeable section of the trade knew that after a dull start due the festival of colours, the film will start rocking the box-office, afternoon onwards. And that is how the script unfolded!
As the initial reports KESARI saw a dull 20 percent start (good for Holi day), but from the afternoon shows the film picked up big and continued it’s merry box-office run, culminating into a superb occupancy during the latter shows. Though the exact numbers are not available (due to Holi) but at a very rough estimate, the film has netted in the range of 22-24 crore.
As things stand, the film is all set for a bumper extended weekend and despite the heavy (reportedly 80 crore) budget it’ll turn into another triumph for the neo Manoj Kumar, that is our very own Khiladi, Akshay Kumar!
