The two new releases of the week, Balaji Motion Pictures’ Kangana Ranaut-Rajkummar Rao starrer JUDGEMENTALL HAI KYA and T-Series’ Diljit Dosanjh-Kriti Sanon starrer ARJUN PATIALA, did not embark on an impressive start, but they were never expected to!
Having said that, it was JUDGEMENTALL HAI KYA which saw a decent 20 percent start with pick up during the latter shows, as opposed to ARJUN PATIALA’s 10 percent start (better in Delhi-NCR). As things stand JHK has better chances of success.
The week was dominated by Hollywood’s animated THE LION KING (dubbed), which saw a superb 80 crore plus week and is a clean hit, which is sure to cross the century mark during the second weekend.
Meanwhile, Nadiadwala Grandsons & Reliance Entertainment’s Vikas Bahl directed Hrithik Roshan starrer, SUPER 30, added another 38 crore thus netting 114 crore (to be validated) in two weeks from India and is a hit plus, and has good chances of improving it’s rating. SUPER 30 is also approaching the $5m (gross) mark in the overseas.
