Annu Kapoor recently commented on an incident involving Bollywood actress and BJP’s newly-elected MP, Kangana Ranaut. On June 6, at Chandigarh airport, Ranaut was reportedly slapped by CISF female constable Kulwinder Kaur during a security check before her flight to Delhi.
During the promotion of his upcoming film “Hamare Baarah,” Annu Kapoor was asked about his views on the incident. Initially, Kapoor seemed unaware of Ranaut, but he then stated that legal action should be pursued regarding the incident.
Reacting to Annu Kapoor’s remarks, Kangana Ranaut shared a clip of his comments on her Instagram stories. In her response, she questioned whether society tends to harbor a stronger dislike towards successful, beautiful, and powerful women. This statement reflects her ongoing narrative about the challenges she faces as a prominent figure in the film industry and public life.
Kangana Ranaut shared a clip of Annu Kapoor’s remarks on her Instagram stories and posed a question to her followers: “Do you agree with Annu Kapoor ji that we tend to hate a successful woman, hate her more if she is beautiful, and hate her even more passionately if she is powerful? Is it true?”
Earlier that day, when asked about Kangana, Kapoor initially appeared unaware of her identity. He responded, “Yeh Kangana ji kaun hain? Please batao na kaun hain? Zaahir hai aap pooch rahe hain toh koi bahut badi heroine hongi? Sundar hain kya? (First tell me who is Kangana? If you are asking me about her, I am sure she must be some big heroine. Who is she? Is she beautiful?)” This reaction sparked Kangana’s response, highlighting the societal biases she believes exist against successful women.
