Actor and politician Kangana Ranaut is set to appear in a new film titled Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata. She was last seen in Emergency, a biopic based on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. On May 6, she shared the first poster of her upcoming film and also announced its release date.
The film is directed and written by Manoj Tapadia and will mark his debut as a feature film director. The story focuses on the events that took place at Cama and Albless Hospital during the 2008 Mumbai attacks. It aims to highlight the role of ordinary people who showed courage and responsibility during a difficult time. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on June 12 2026.
Along with the announcement, the makers shared a message describing the theme of the film. “Extraordinary story of ordinary people! The story of the night, when humanity stood taller than fear. When responsibility became sacrifice. When unity became duty. And courage saved lives. The untold story of India’s real heroes #BharatBhaagyaViddhaata Releasing in cinemas on 12th June.”
Kangana Ranaut is expected to play the role of a staff nurse in the film. The character is meant to represent healthcare workers who continued to do their duty during the 26 11 attacks. The film also features Girija Oak in an important role.
After the poster was released, many people reacted on social media.
