The two major releases of the week, Kartik Aryan’s PATI PATNI AUR WOH and Arjun Kapoor’s PANIPAT, went the expected and predicted way.
While the front runner was PATI PATNI AUR WOH, embarking on a 25 percent start, PANIPAT managed a 10 percent occupancy. Having said that, both PATI PATNI AUR WOH and PANIPAT have managed to impress the critics, but given the audience feedback, it is heavily in favour of PP & W and should reflect solidly in the box-office numbers.
As per initial estimation, PATI PATNI AUR WOH has netted 9 crores while PANIPAT has managed 5 crores, on the opening day.
Meanwhile, last week saw the release of the next edition of the COMMANDO franchise, Reliance Entertainment’s Vidyut-Adah starrer COMMANDO 3 and the film did manage to hold decently and netted 28-29 crore during the opening week from India, surpassing the two previous editions in a matter of days! The film should end up as another success, after accounting for the non-theatrical rights, especially the expected good satellite rights.
