The King Has a New Sidekick! Arshad Warsi Boards Shah Rukh Khan’s Movie

Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated action film King has just gotten even more exciting with the addition of Arshad Warsi to its stellar cast. As per an exclusive report by PeepingMoon.com, director Siddharth Anand has brought the versatile actor on board to play a prominent role in this high-octane entertainer, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Productions.

While the details of Arshad Warsi’s role are still under wraps, his casting has amped up the buzz around the project. The film already stars Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Abhay Verma. Deepika Padukone is also said to appear in an extended cameo as Suhana’s mother and SRK’s former lover.

King marks a reunion for SRK and Arshad after nearly two decades—they were last seen together in Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye (2005), where Shah Rukh had a brief cameo. Their collaboration this time is expected to be more substantial, adding weight to the film’s ensemble. Makers are also reportedly in talks with Jaideep Ahlawat for a key role, although his casting hasn’t been confirmed.

The film is said to draw inspiration from the 2000 action thriller Bichhoo, itself a remake of Léon: The Professional (1994). Shah Rukh will be seen as a seasoned assassin who teams up with Suhana’s character after a personal tragedy, setting the stage for a gripping tale of revenge, action, and emotion.

Slated to begin shooting on May 18 in Mumbai, King is expected to hit theatres in the final quarter of 2026. Meanwhile, Arshad Warsi continues to stay busy with upcoming projects like Jolly LLB 3, Dhamaal 4, and Welcome to the Jungle.
