Lalit Modi, the former Indian Premier League (IPL) chief, was recently spotted at the wedding of Sidhartha Mallya, son of fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya, and his partner Jasmine in the UK.
The wedding took place at Vijay Mallya’s luxurious estate in Hertfordshire and included both a Christian and a traditional Hindu ceremony.
Vijay Mallya is currently wanted in India for his alleged involvement in a loan fraud case exceeding ₹900 crore. Lalit Modi, similarly, is a fugitive facing charges of tax evasion, money laundering, and financial misconduct.
He was suspended from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after IPL 2010 due to allegations of misconduct and financial irregularities. The BCCI claims Modi defrauded it of ₹753 crore in collusion with officials from the World Sports Group (WSG).
