Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announces Baba Siddique to get a State Funeral

Baba Siddique, National Congress Party leader, who was shot dead last night in Mumbai is reported to receive a state funeral. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed that the former minister of Maharashtra state Baba Siddique get a state funeral with full government honors.

Baba Siddique, National Congress Party leader, who was shot dead last night in Mumbai is reported to receive a state funeral. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed that the former minister of Maharashtra state Baba Siddique get a state funeral with full government honors. This is to honor his contribution to the government. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the state of Maharashtra for three consecutive terms from 1999 to 2009.

His son Zeeshan Siddique shared funeral details of his late father on social media. He wrote, “With Immense Grief, We inform you that Our Beloved Shri. Baba Siddique, Father of MLA Shri. Zeeshan Baba Siddique & Dr. Arshia Siddique & Husband of Mrs. Shehzeen Siddique has left for his Heavenly Abode.”

He further shared Namaz E Janaza will be conducted today on October 13, Sunday at 7 pm after Magrib Namaz at Maqba Heights. Burial is scheduled later on the same day at 8:30 pm at Bada Kabarastan

Baba Siddique was shot dead last night in Bandra East, Mumbai outside of his son’s office while he was involved in the festivities of Dussehra. Reportedly three men fired gunshots on him. Allegedly six bullets were shot at him and four hit him in the chest. Two accused were arrested after the incident and they admitted to being a part of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. Police are investigating the arrested suspects and are on the lookout for the third accused.
