The bunched new releases of this week, AMAVAS, DOSTI KE SIDE EFFECTS, JHOL, S P CHAUHAN and THE FAKIR OF VENICE proved to be duds with just AMAVAS managing a below 5-7 percent start.
Coming to last Friday’s premier release, Vidhu Vinod Chopra Productions and Fox Star Studios’ Anil, Juhi, Sonam and Rajkummar starrer EK LADKI KO DEKHA TOH AISA LAGA disappointed, barely netting 17 crore during its opening week from India and is a flop.
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranauts’ MANIKARNIKA-THE QUEEN OF JHANSI held decently and its total stands at 78 crore at the end of the second week and is already a creditable average fare.
Concluding with the blockbuster, Ronnie Screwvala’s URI- THE SURGICAL STRIKE, the Vicky Kaushal starrer continues to be the audiences’ favourite despite many new releases and has netted 31 crore during its fourth week thus taking its total to an astonishing 200 crore and an all time blockbuster status.
