The demise of Bollywood superstar Rajesh Khanna has certainly given a jolt to the industry. Filmmaker Saawan Kumar Tak, who made a super hit film SOUTEN with Rajesh Khanna, is equally taken aback with the news. He remembers working with Kaka, as Rajesh is fondly called, and says no one can replace him.
“I did a great film like SOUTEN with him. He was born to play that role and I was born to make that film. Such was our rare match. It was a memorable experience working with him. SOUTEN was the first Bollywood film to be shot in Mauritius and since then the beautiful destination gained popularity,” says the veteran filmmaker

He further adds, “There’s no one in the present generation or among the current lot who can live up to Rajesh Khanna’s aura. He ruled people’s heart and for centuries he will live in their heart & will be remembered forever. No actor can match his level or even replace him.”
“His films used to create impact. He never looked whether a particular film will be hit or flop…There are no words to describe him. We will really miss a legendary actor like Rajesh Khanna.”

Ask him about the hollow space created in the industry with Kaka’s death and he says in ironic tone, “The empty space was created long back when Rajeshji stopped working.”
The duo just met a year back. He says, “Just a year back we met each other. Since then we were in regular touch. It feels sad that he is no more between us.”
Well, we too will miss Kaka’s charm
