Aman Preet Singh, brother of actress Rakul Preet Singh, was arrested on July 15 in a joint operation led by the Narcotics Bureau of Hyderabad, Rajendra Nagar Police, and the SOT. Aman, who is also an actor, was detained for allegedly purchasing illegal substances from Nigerian drug peddlers. The authorities confiscated 200 grams of cocaine during the operation.
This arrest is part of a broader crackdown on drug trafficking in the region, which also led to the detention of five Nigerian nationals accused of selling drugs to film industry figures and industrialists. Alongside Aman Preet Singh, four other celebrities and two businessmen were arrested.
The investigation revealed that Aman Preet Singh was in possession of drugs worth approximately Rs 2.6 crore. It is reported that he had around 30 customers, mainly family and friends, to whom he sold cocaine. The police have compiled a list of these customers and submitted it to the Cyberabad Commissioner.
Further raids were conducted at Aman Singh’s workplace and apartment, as well as other locations he frequented, which ultimately led to his arrest. There have been ongoing allegations against Rakul Preet Singh’s family regarding drug peddling activities.
Rakul Preet Singh herself has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection to the Tollywood drug case and was previously questioned in Mumbai related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, which exposed drug use in Bollywood. Her close association with Rhea Chakraborty, a key suspect in the Rajput case, has also been scrutinized.
Additionally, Rakul Preet Singh owns four F45 gym franchises in Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, and Vijayawada, where Aman Singh reportedly spends much of his time. The gyms have been mentioned in connection to his alleged involvement in drug activities.
The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the full extent of the drug network and bring all involved parties to justice.
