There were reports that Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film BOMBAY VELVET starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma & Karan Johar has been postponed but, the filmmakers has denied the reports and said that it is going to release as scheduled i.e. on 15th May, 2015.

Anurag confirmed this news on a microblogging site saying, “BOMBAY VELVET is releasing on May 15th and is not postponed.. fuck all the stories in the papers.. judge the film when you see it…”

BOMBAY VELVET is based on historian Gyan Prakash’s book ‘Mumbai Fables’. Set in the backdrop of the 60’s, the film tells the story of a boxer, Johnny Balraj (ranbir), and an aspiring jazz singer, Rosie (Anushka), and how their hopes and dreams collide with their individual realities.
According to recent reports, Raveena Tandon, who was to play a jazz singer in the film, has opted out of it due to the changes in the sequences in the post-production stage.
