From Screen to War Zone! Randeep Hooda to Play Army Hero in ‘Operation Khukri’ – Get Ready for Action

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda is all set to return to the big screen in another intense and gripping role. Following the critical acclaim for Jaat, Hooda now steps into the uniform of a real-life war hero in Operation Khukri a film that brings one of the most daring missions in Indian military history to life.

Based on a Real Rescue Mission in Sierra Leone

Operation Khukri is inspired by the 2000 military operation carried out by the Indian Army in Sierra Leone, West Africa. At the time, 233 Indian peacekeeping soldiers were held hostage by rebel forces. The high-risk mission to rescue them stands as a remarkable feat of courage, strategy, and leadership.

Hooda will portray Major General Raj Pal Punia, who then served as the company commander of the 14th Mechanized Infantry. He led the operation that successfully rescued the trapped soldiers within 75 days.

Speaking about the project, Hooda said, “This film is not only about weapons and war, but it shows the spirit of bravery, sacrifice, and brotherhood. It is a matter of pride for me to play such a brave warrior who added a golden chapter in the Indian Army’s history.”

Backed by a Bestseller and Big Production

The film is based on a bestselling book published by Penguin Random House India. The movie rights have been acquired by Rahul Mittra Films and Randeep Hooda Films. Currently in the scripting phase, Operation Khukri will be shot on a grand scale.

The team aims to present a powerful tribute to the Indian Army, blending thrilling action with emotional storytelling for a global audience.
