The visual comparison to his portrayal of Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat is inevitable, with many fans noting the similarity in his intense expression and powerful presence.
In the leaked images, Ranveer is seen in a long kurta, standing in the middle of a group of men who seem to be part of his “gang,” in a rural town setting. His muscular physique and bulging biceps have only amplified the Khilji comparisons. Social media users have been quick to comment on the resemblance, with one fan saying, “Sardar look mein bhi Khilji wali intensity,” highlighting the parallel intensity between his two characters.

This new look, of course, hasn’t helped but evoked comparisons to Ranbir Kapoor’s character in Animal, to the extent that some fans even jokingly remarked that Ranveer was “Animal before Animal.” The images themselves are leaked from Dhurandhar, which is directed by Aditya Dhar. Dhar had given the country its first Bollywood hit URI: The Surgical Strike, and last year, Ranveer and Dhar had officially announced this association. The movie stars Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal among others.
