Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi delayed to 2027; official release date awaited

Salman Khan's Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace is reportedly eyeing a 2027 release amid reported clearance concerns. An official confirmation is awaited

Salman Khan’s upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace is reportedly headed for another delay, with multiple reports suggesting the film may now release in 2027 instead of its previously expected 2026 window.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salman Khan Films in association with Jio Studios, Maatrubhumi is reportedly inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash and stars Salman Khan in a role reportedly based on Colonel B. Santosh Babu. Chitrangada Singh also features in the film.

According to recent reports, the delay is linked to clearance-related concerns owing to the film’s sensitive military subject. However, the makers have not officially confirmed the reason behind the postponement or announced a revised release date.

The project, which was originally announced as Battle of Galwan, was later retitled Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace and has undergone additional shooting before entering its final stages.

An official update on the film’s release timeline is now awaited from the makers.
