Salman Khan’s upcoming action film with filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally and producer Dil Raju is reportedly getting a new identity. The project, which was earlier known as SVC63 during development, is reportedly titled Monster. The film is currently being shot and is expected to be a large scale action entertainer featuring Salman in a major role. However, the official title is yet to be announced by the makers.
According to a report by Filmfare, Salman has also taken on a larger part of his own stunt work during the current schedule. The development reportedly came after his body double suffered a heart attack. A source close to the production told Filmfare, “Salman is completely hands-on right now. He doesn’t want the schedule to lose momentum.” The actor is therefore said to be personally involved in several action scenes as the team continues work on the film.
The project marks Salman’s first collaboration with Vamshi Paidipally, who is known for films including Maharshi, Oopiri and Varisu. It also marks Dil Raju’s production house working with Salman for the first time. Another major attraction of the film is Nayanthara, who will share the screen with Salman for the first time. The cast is also reportedly expected to include Sagarika Ghatge and Muzammil Ibrahim.
The film has been attracting attention because of its focus on action. The makers are reportedly planning large and visually impressive stunt sequences to match Salman’s screen presence. Salman and Vamshi recently celebrated the filmmaker’s birthday on the sets, giving fans a glimpse into the team’s ongoing shoot.
Earlier, Bollywood Hungama reported that the makers had brought a Korean action team on board to design and execute some of the film’s major sequences. According to the report, the team is led by Sea Young Oh, popularly known as Mr. Oh. The action expert has worked on films such as Dhurandhar, Kill and War and is known for his work on high intensity action sequences.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The Korean action team is led by Sea Young Oh, popularly known as Mr. Oh. He has worked on Dhurandhar, Kill and War, and is among the most celebrated action directors of world cinema. He has been working relentlessly with Salman Khan and Vamshi to create a new action experience for the audience.”
The involvement of the Korean team is expected to give the film a more international style of action. The team is reportedly working closely with Salman and Vamshi to create sequences suited to the actor’s image and fighting style.
While Monster is being reported as the title, the makers have not officially confirmed it yet. Details about the story, release date and final title announcement are expected to be shared later.
