Shah Rukh Khan’s Big Setback! King Shoot Comes to a Halt After Superstar Suffers Injury

Shah Rukh Khan’s highly anticipated 2026 action thriller King has run into a temporary hurdle after the actor was injured while shooting for a high-energy stunt sequence. A Bollywood Hungama report claimed that the accident took place at Golden Tobacco Studio in Mumbai, where SRK was shooting a high-energy action scene.

Despite the nature of the injury having not been officially revealed, the sources within the production disclosed it was a “muscular strain” resulting from built-up stress due to years of acting out physically demanding character roles. “It is not serious, but Shah Rukh has suffered several injuries throughout the years, and this one necessitated precautionary treatment,” the source disclosed.

For precaution, SRK has flown to the US to undergo medical treatment. The physicians have directed him to rest for an entire month, forcing the team to stop shooting. Shooting schedules at premier Mumbai studios — YRF Studios, Film City, and Golden Tobacco — have been postponed indefinitely. The shoot is now likely to resume only in September or October 2025.

High-Profile Cast, Release Date Doubtful

King has an all-star cast that includes Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Suhana Khan, and others. The movie boasts action, drama, and scale on a large scale, which makes it one of the most eagerly awaited projects in 2026.

The producers were allegedly aiming for a Gandhi Jayanti release date (October 2, 2026). With the delay in production, though, there’s doubt if that can be achieved still.

For the moment, fans are wishing speedy recovery to Shah Rukh Khan — and waiting impatiently for his return to work on what’s looking like another blockbuster installment in his glorious career.
