Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar, known for their decades-long friendship, brought their signature camaraderie and humor to the WAVES Summit 2025. Their light-hearted banter delighted the audience as SRK playfully roasted Karan over a parenting story.
Karan’s Parenting Confession
During the event, Karan shared a funny anecdote about his kids. “My son once came to me and said, ‘Shah Rukh uncle trains Abram before Sports Day, why aren’t you training me?’” he recalled. “Can you imagine me training my son to run? It’s actually quite scary.”

SRK’s Witty Comeback
In classic SRK style, the actor teased Karan, saying, “Because Deepika [Padukone] is such a wonderful athlete, it’s in her genes, you should get trained by us first. Then you can train your kids.” Karan, slightly flustered but amused, laughed it off, saying, “I don’t know when this turned into a roast, but whatever you said, I accept it with respect.”
The ‘Perfect Parent’ Tag
Earlier in the session, Karan had praised Shah Rukh as the “Parent of the Decade.” He said, “He’s present at every Annual Day, every Sports Day. He even trains his kids. I feel all kinds of complexes. I just can’t do any of that.”
SRK’s Heartfelt Reflection on Parenthood
SRK also shared a touching thought: “Having a child feels like letting a part of your heart walk outside your body.” He added that making his children laugh helps him feel fulfilled and less lonely, and advised others to do the same with their parents if they don’t have kids.
On the Work Front
Shah Rukh Khan is now preparing for his upcoming film King, where he will star alongside his daughter Suhana Khan.
