When my name was changed to Tena Desai, people had a problem and now when I have reverted back to the original name, Tina Desai, there is a problem”.

The elegant beauty, Tina Desai, had the distinction of giving the industry the first hit of 2013, TABLE NO. 21, and that too in the dreaded early January phase. However from the many offers post that, Tina just signed DUSSEHRA with Neil Nitin Mukesh. She was recently seen in SHARAFAT GAYI TEL LENE, but it was a project which was unfortunately delayed and she had signed it before TABLE NO. 21 success.

When we asked Tina the reason for such selective projects, she was quite clear in her vision saying, ”I don’t believe in going on a signing spree as I prefer subjects which are woman oriented or have something substantial for the female lead. As you must have seen even in SHARAFAT GAYI TEL LENE, it is just not the role of a journalist but how she can be of help due to her profession.”
Before letting Tina go we queried her about her burn injury due to the old accident on the sets of DUSSEHRA (where she plays a cop) and how grievous it was, the actress did not make a mountain out of a mole hill and revealed, ”Yes, my back did get burnt, but it was not as bad as it was made out to be.”
