Dhurandhar The Revenge continues to grab attention for its scale and performances, but it is not just the lead actors who are being praised. One of the standout performances comes from Udaybir Sandhu, who plays the role of Gurbaaz Singh, also known as Pinda.
In the film, Pinda is shown as the childhood friend of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, played by Ranveer Singh. Set in Punjab, the story shows how Pinda supports Jaskirat during one of the toughest times in his life. After a violent land dispute destroys Jaskirat’s family, Pinda stands by him and helps him deal with the situation.
As the story moves forward, Pinda plays an important role in helping Jaskirat get access to weapons through a powerful politician with criminal links. This becomes a key step in Jaskirat’s journey of revenge.
However, the film takes a surprising turn before the interval. Years later, Pinda meets Jaskirat again, who is now living under the name Hamza in Pakistan. At this point, Jaskirat is involved in a dangerous network linked to drugs and terrorism.
In one of the most powerful moments of the film, Pinda says, “Ghar ki yaad nahi aayi tujhe, Jassi?” This line instantly changes the mood and creates tension. At first, Pinda pretends that he does not recognise him, but soon it becomes clear that he knows the truth. He has discovered Jaskirat’s secret identity as an Indian spy, making the scene one of the most gripping parts of the film.
Talking about the actor, Udaybir Sandhu comes from Punjab and was earlier a national level hockey player before entering the film industry. He made his acting debut with Gold alongside Akshay Kumar.
He later appeared in Amar Singh Chamkila, directed by Imtiaz Ali, where he played a role inspired by a real life character. For this role, he even gained weight and shared screen space with Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra.
Udaybir also made his Punjabi film debut with Ikk Kudi alongside Shehnaaz Gill.
Apart from films, he is also active in modelling and has appeared in several ad campaigns. With his performance in Dhurandhar The Revenge, Udaybir Sandhu has proved that he is a rising talent to watch out for in the future.
