Let’s find out in the movie review of WAR.

Immediate reaction when the end credits roll

The killer combo of Hrithik Roshan & Tiger Shroff is crowd pleaser for sure but our dil wanted more from this YRF’s big spectacle.

The Story of WAR

Khalid (Tiger Shroff) an Indian soldier on special duties gets the assignment to eliminate Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) former soldier and his senior as well as mentor. This leads to game of one-upmanship between the teacher and his disciple.

WAR movie review

This YRF big ticket after the laughable dud THUGS OF HINDOSTAN plays very safe and is ‘bang’ on in cashing the best saleable qualities of Hrithik and Tiger. Fans will be delighted. Hrithik and Tiger fight together, dance together and share a great camaraderie. Thankfully they don’t fall in love together with a same woman so Siddharth Anand can pat his back for at least avoiding once cliché in this familiar cat and mouse routine. Siddharth Anand tries to cover the weak plot that lacks logic with high octane action and succeeds to considerable extent.

Hrithik Roshan in his salt and pepper avatar is terrific. Tiger as his earnest disciple is superb as well.

But seriously, WAR – an espionage action thriller from Yash Raj after TIGER series could have been something at par with the successful franchise starring Salman Khan. This could have been a great asset if the plot was more focused and was not left wandering everywhere. WAR IS elaborately staged, bang bang action with eye popping cinematography by Ben Jasper and is powered by a killer cast but still it turns BAAGHI for those who wanted something extra, special and unique from this deadly combo of Hrithik and Tiger.

Siddharth Anand is known for his fascination with Hollywood and we don,t expect any ARGO or any originality from him but still..

Music by Vishal Shekhar is routine re hash. Daniel B George is effective.

No, I have not forgotten Vaani Kapoor, she makes her entry in the second half and looks gorgeous but her role lacks substance.

From the supporting cast Ashutosh Rana as Colonel Luthra and Anupriya Goenka as the team member are competent. Anil George is fine.

Final words

YRF touted big spectacle after the forgettable THUGS OF HINDOSTAN stars    Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. It’s designed as an epic espionage action but it feels like a stunt, but a harmless and enjoyable one at least for the fans of Hrithik and Tiger. Going with a generous 3 star for this touted ‘Face Off’.
