Ariana Grande has apologized to fans after missing the highly anticipated Wicked: For Good premiere in São Paulo, Brazil, citing unexpected flight complications.

In a heartfelt Instagram story posted hours before the event, Grande wrote that she was “beyond devastated” after her team had to deplane due to a safety issue. The flight was grounded for maintenance and could not take off until 11 a.m. the following day, meaning she wouldn’t make it in time for the red carpet.

“My team and Universal have tried every single thing possible to fix this,” she wrote, explaining that they explored every available option, from overnight and early-morning flights to private charters, but nothing could get her to Brazil in time.

The singer continued, “Even in attempting a private option, there is a permit necessary to fly from here that takes time to attain.”

Expressing deep regret, Ariana told fans she was “heartbroken” to miss such a special night and apologized “from the bottom of my heart.” She asked fans to shower her Wicked co-stars with love, adding, “I wish I could be showering you with all of the love that I wish I could be giving you in person.”

Grande concluded the message by saying, “I am so, so very sorry,” emphasizing that she and her team did everything they could to resolve the issue.
