Euphoria Fans Think Cassie’s Contract Is Going To Destroy Her

Episode 5 of Euphoria, titled “This Little Piggy,” may have just set up the darkest Cassie storyline yet.

And honestly, the contract scene feels way bigger than people initially realized. After Brandon exposes the truth that Maddie is basically acting more like an assistant than an actual manager, Cassie immediately decides she’s ready to ditch Maddie the second a better opportunity appears.  Which, if we are being honest, is exactly who Cassie has always been.

Maddie helped build her platform. Maddie introduced her to Brandon Fontaine. Maddie boosted her career and connections. But the moment Cassie thought she had access to something bigger, she was fully ready to abandon her.

That’s what makes Maddie’s response so interesting.

Instead of freaking out, Maddie stays completely calm and pulls off one of the most manipulative scenes in the episode. She fake-calls someone and acts like she’s canceling Cassie’s huge audition for “L.A. Nights” with this hotshot producer because Cassie is no longer her client.

And Cassie completely panics.

The second she thinks the opportunity is disappearing, she folds instantly and signs Maddie’s contract without even reading it.

That moment is what has fans spiraling online right now.

Because this is Euphoria. Sam Levinson does not randomly show somebody signing legal paperwork without reading it unless it is going to matter later.

And now there’s a massive theory circulating that the contract contains some kind of clause giving Maddie serious control over Cassie’s career, image, earnings, or future opportunities.

The theory gets even darker because of the way the episode ends.

Maddie unexpectedly starts getting closer to Alamo, Rue’s terrifying new boss, and begins stepping deeper into his world.

At the same time, fans noticed that Alamo is becoming weirdly interested in Maddie’s social-media-management hustle and the money-making side of Cassie’s online fame.

So now people think those two storylines are eventually going to collide.

Some fans online are even theorizing Maddie could eventually use the contract to force Cassie into working for Alamo’s strip club operation. Reddit discussions after the episode exploded with speculation that Maddie now “has full control over Cassie’s career” because of what she signed.

Personally though, I do not buy the idea that Maddie would ever intentionally traffic Cassie or destroy her life in some irredeemable way.

Manipulate her? Absolutely.

Control her? Probably.

Use the contract against her after feeling betrayed? Definitely possible.

But Maddie has never been written as somebody genuinely evil. Vindictive, emotional, possessive, yes. But not monstrous.

If anything, the scarier part is how willingly Cassie keeps handing her power over to other people.

First Nate. Then Brandon. Now Maddie.

And the saddest thing is she signs this contract immediately because she is so desperate for validation, fame and approval that she does not even pause to think about consequences.

That scene honestly says more about Cassie’s mental state than any monologue could.
