HBO’s highly anticipated Harry Potter series continues to build excitement with new casting announcements, following the reveal of the young actors who will portray Harry, Ron, and Hermione. The series, set to unfold over nearly a decade, aims to closely follow J.K. Rowling’s original books, offering a detailed retelling of the iconic story.
New Faces for Iconic Families
HBO has now unveiled the actors set to play key members of the Malfoy, Weasley, and Dursley families. Katherine Parkinson will portray Molly Weasley, stepping into a role originally played by Julie Walters. Lox Pratt will take on the part of Draco Malfoy, while Johnny Flynn plays his father, Lucius Malfoy previously portrayed by Tom Felton and Jason Isaacs.
In the Dursley household, Bel Powley will play Harry’s strict aunt, Petunia, and Daniel Rigby will take over the role of Vernon Dursley, replacing the late Richard Griffiths.
Hogwarts Students and Ministry Figures
New Hogwarts students have also been cast. Leo Earley will portray Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni will play Parvati Patil, and Sienna Moosah steps in as Lavender Brown. Bertie Carvel has been announced as Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic originally portrayed by Robert Hardy.
Meet the New Golden Trio
Leading the series are three young newcomers: Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. These rising stars will follow in the footsteps of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, who starred in all eight original films.
