Jada Pinkett Smith shuts down $3M lawsuit, calls claims “false and attention-seeking”

Jada Pinkett Smith hits back at Will Smith’s alleged former friend, calling his $3 million lawsuit baseless and unsupported by evidence.

Jada Pinkett Smith is not holding back anymore. The actor has officially responded to a $3 million lawsuit filed by Bilaal Salaam, and her stance is crystal clear. None of it is real. According to legal filings, Bilaal claimed he suffered “severe emotional distress” after alleged fallout with Jada and her inner circle. He linked that distress to weight gain, the end of a relationship, and even leaving the country temporarily. Jada’s response dismantles that entire narrative.

She argues that none of these claims are backed by actual evidence. No medical records. No third-party proof. Just statements. And legally, that is not enough.

The lawsuit itself stems from Bilaal’s claim that Jada publicly targeted him after he refused to support Will Smith during the Oscars controversy. He also alleged that people connected to the Smith family threatened him when they learned he was writing a memoir.

Jada is calling all of that out.

In her filing, she labels the accusations as “false, uncorroborated and made to generate attention.” She also points out that she never even mentioned Bilaal by name in any public statements, directly countering his narrative of being targeted.

Her legal team is now pushing for the case to be dismissed entirely.

What this really looks like is a high-profile attempt to shut down what she sees as a publicity-driven lawsuit before it gains any more traction.

And if the court agrees with her argument, this entire case could be over before it even properly begins.
