Universal Pictures has officially unveiled the title and first-look photos of the fourth Jurassic World film, tiled Jurassic World Rebirth. This marks the seventh installment in the iconic Jurassic Park franchise, which has been captivating audiences for 31 years. The film is set to hit theaters on July 2, 2025.
Jurassic World Rebirth boasts a fresh cast, with Scarlett Johansson leading the ensemble as Zora Bennett, a Covert Operations expert. Joining her are Jonathan Bailey, known for his role in Bridgerton, playing Dr. Henry Loomis, a palaeontologist, and Mahershala Ali, the acclaimed actor from Moonlight, portraying Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s partner. The cast also includes Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer), Rupert Friend (Hitman: Agent 47), Luna Blaise (Manifest), and David Iacono (*The Summer I Turned Pretty*).
The film’s script is penned by David Koepp, who wrote the original 1993 *Jurassic Park* film, ensuring a return to the roots of the franchise. Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, Rebirth explores a world where the planet’s ecology has largely become inhospitable to dinosaurs. The few remaining dinosaurs live in isolated equatorial environments that resemble the climates in which they once thrived. The plot centers on the discovery that the three most colossal creatures within this tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug with miraculous life-saving benefits for humankind. Johansson’s character, Zora Bennett, leads a perilous mission to extract DNA from these dinosaurs, but the mission goes awry, leaving her stranded on an island with a civilian family.
