According to TMZ, both Kardashian and Jenner have filed sworn declarations denying that they ever colluded to plan the tape’s release. The legal statements were submitted as part of an ongoing dispute between Kardashian and Ray J, who have been battling in court over claims of defamation and alleged violations of a previous settlement agreement.
In the documents reviewed by TMZ, Kardashian directly addressed Ray J’s accusation that she worked with her mother and others to stage the tape’s release and then file a lawsuit against the company that distributed it in order to generate publicity. Kardashian called that claim completely false.
In her declaration, Kardashian stated that Ray J’s allegation that she had a plan with her mother to release the tape, deceive the public, and create buzz through a fake lawsuit was simply untrue. Kris also strongly rejected the accusation in her own sworn statement. She described the claim that she orchestrated the commercial exploitation of the tape as “absolutely false.” Jenner said the suggestion that she played any role in filming, producing, or deciding to release such material involving her daughter was deeply offensive.
According to the filing cited by media resources, Jenner added that the accusation has followed her for decades and continues to cause harm to her reputation.
The dispute stems from a lawsuit Kardashian and Jenner filed against Ray J in October, accusing him of defamation. Ray J later responded with a countersuit, arguing that they violated a settlement agreement that prohibited any party involved from publicly discussing the tape.
Jenner has accused Ray J of repeatedly targeting Kardashian in public statements, while Kim Kardashian has argued that his allegations could damage her ambitions to become a lawyer in the future.
