Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have separated after less than a year of marriage. According to US reports, they both have mutually decided to separate from each other as they want to focus on their careers.
"You don't understand what it's like. I don't want to talk about it mate," Hemsworth told "Daily Mail Australia".
The couple got married in December last year but decided to separate within seven months of marriage.
Confirming the news of their split, Cyrus' representative told "US magazine" that it was a "mutual decision".
"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers.
They still remain dedicated parents to all of the animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy," the representative added, according to a "Daily Mail Australia" report.
Liam Hemsworth captioned, “Hi all Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.
News of their split came as Cyrus enjoyed an Italian vacation with friends including Kaitlynn Carter, who recently announced her split from husband Brody Jenner after a year of marriage.
