The Devil Wears Prada 2: The Iconic Trio Reunites – Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Anne Hathaway Back in Action

Fashion enthusiasts rejoice The Devil Wears Prada sequel is officially happening, with Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci all returning to reprise their legendary roles. The much-awaited sequel is coming courtesy of Disney’s 20th Century Studios and will hit theaters across the globe on May 1, 2026.

New Faces and Returning Favorites
Joining the original cast is award-winning actor Kenneth Branagh, who will play the role of Miranda Priestly’s husband. Disney announced this new addition on their Instagram, dropping a hint to fans with a photo of two red signature pumps—a clear reference to Miranda’s fashion dominion.

Plot and Industry Relevance
Though formal plot specifics are still a secret, Variety says the sequel will see Miranda Priestly confronting the cold hard truths of a struggling print media business. She’ll be at odds with Emily Blunt’s character, who was once her assistant but is now a dominant executive with tight fisted control over coveted advertising budgets. The new dynamic creates the backdrop for an epic battle of wills in the cutthroat world of fashion publishing.

Anne Hathaway’s character, Andy Sachs, quit Runway in the first film to become a journalist. It remains to be seen how she will be involved in the sequel’s plot.
