Jungkook, the popular BTS member, has officially announced the release of his first solo documentary titled Jungkook: I Am Still. The announcement was made through a video shared on BTS’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, where Jungkook shared the exciting news with his fans, known as ARMY. The documentary is set to premiere in theaters worldwide on September 18, 2024.
In the video, Jungkook reflected on his journey over the past year, starting with his first solo track, “Seven,” and leading up to his studio album Golden. He described this period as filled with “golden moments of happiness” and expressed gratitude for the love and support he received from fans. He went on to describe the documentary as a deep dive into his experiences as a solo artist, featuring behind-the-scenes stories and moments he didn’t get to share during the album promotions.
In addition to showcasing the creative and personal journey behind the album, the documentary will feature “scenes from internationally loved performances,” highlighting Jungkook’s global reach and impact as a solo artist.
On Weverse, a note was shared. It read, “Hello. We wish to inform you of the premier of BTS member Jungkook’s documentary film. The film JUNGKOOK: I AM STILL will premiere in theatres worldwide on September 18, 2024. The documentary JUNGKOOK: I AM STILL follows the talented and ever-growing artist Jungkook on his eight-month journey toward becoming a ‘global pop star’ who captivated the global music scene and takes a dive into the star’s heartfelt love for his fans, ARMY.”
Tickets for the documentary will be available for global booking starting on August 21, 2024, with different booking dates for Korea and Japan. The documentary will premiere in Japan on October 4, 2024.
Currently, Jungkook is fulfilling his mandatory military service in South Korea, but the upcoming documentary offers fans an intimate glimpse into his journey as a solo artist.
