Unbelievable duet alert! Ed Sheeran and A R Rahman’s electrifying performance of ‘Urvasi Urvasi’; Fans call it ‘Shape of Urvasi’

Ed Sheeran’s concert in Chennai turned into an unforgettable night when the British pop star invited legendary composer AR Rahman on stage. The audience was thrilled as the two musical icons performed a mashup of Sheeran’s hit Shape of You and Rahman’s classic Urvasi Urvasi.

He is singing Shape of You. Rahman starts belting out Urvasi Urvasi from Moulin Rouge; it is simply magical. Everyone in the hall is ecstatic with cheers and chants for this sudden collaboration. He posted a clip of the duet on his Instagram and appreciated, “What an honour @ARRahman.” Fans took to the comment section, thrilled, while a few are left reminiscing the concert, hoping they had witnessed it. One user even went on to post, “How lucky is Chennai.”

In the lead up to the show, Sheeran met up with AR Rahman and his son, AR Ameen. Rahman later put up pictures on Instagram of when they met up. One included them sitting together on a couch, while the other had him sitting at his music console while Sheeran took a photograph. Adding that personal touch Rahman captioned his post, “Photos by Ed Sheeran.

Sheeran’s Chennai concert was a part of his six-city India tour for The Mathematics series, which started in Pune on January 30. He has already performed in Hyderabad at Ramoji Film City on February 2. The tour is going to continue in cities like Bengaluru, Shillong, and Delhi, and fans are eagerly waiting for his performances.

This unforgettable night in Chennai further cemented Ed Sheeran’s love for India and gave music lovers a unique collaboration they will cherish forever.
