The Voice Lives On: Liam Payne’s Unreleased Music to be Shared with the World

Months before his tragic death in October 2024, Liam Payne reportedly finished two full-length albums, according to The Daily Mail. The music said to be his most personal work was recorded during a rare stretch of sobriety earlier that year. Payne, 31, died on October 16 after falling from a third-floor balcony at Buenos Aires’ CasaSur hotel.

A Netflix Farewell
Payne stars in Building The Band, a new Netflix series filmed shortly before his death. The show premiered recently, with more episodes set to air. Host AJ McLean paid tribute at the launch: “We dedicate this series to Liam and his family.” The project has received full support from Payne’s loved ones, including his sister Nicola, who shared on social media, “Watching this has given me a way to feel close to you.”

Recording in Sobriety
Payne’s first album was developed in Camden, North London, with longtime collaborator Jamie Scott. The second was created in Palm Beach, Florida, and Sweden during the summer of 2024. Friends say the former One Direction star was sober, focused, and in a good place, living with girlfriend Kate Cassidy. “He was really looking after himself,” said friend Roger Nores. “He had turned a corner.”

Possible Posthumous Release
Though the albums remain unreleased, there are talks of launching select tracks in connection with future episodes of Building The Band. Any release would require approval from his family, who are actively involved in protecting his legacy.

Estate and Legal Matters
Payne died without a will. His £24.3 million estate will go to his 8-year-old son Bear, with Cheryl Tweedy named executor. Meanwhile, two men remain in custody in Argentina, accused of supplying cocaine to Payne. They deny all charges.
