Selena Gomez is back with a brand-new single, “In the Dark,” which is already making waves. Released on Thursday, the soulful track appears on Nobody Wants This Season 2: The Soundtrack. The accompanying music video, directed by Luke Orlando, features Selena in an elegant all-black ensemble as she sings about unconditional love and emotional vulnerability.
Sharing the news with fans on Instagram, Selena posted a short clip from the video and wrote, “‘In The Dark’ is out now. This is just a little nostalgia droplet and I hope you love it.” In a since-deleted Instagram Story, she also revealed that the song draws inspiration from her 2015 album Revival, writing that she “thought it would be fun to add a little Revival to it.”
The release follows Gomez’s recent collaborative album I Said I Loved You First with her husband, producer Benny Blanco, further marking her continued musical evolution.
Nobody Wants This Season 2: The Soundtrack features 19 tracks from a mix of acclaimed artists, including Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves, and Role Model. The album debuted alongside the season premiere of the dark comedy series, which follows the unconventional love story between Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody).
The second season brings back the original cast while introducing new faces. Returning stars include Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn, Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, and Tovah Feldshuh. Guest appearances this season include Leighton Meester, Arian Moayed, Miles Fowler, and Alex Karpovsky.
