Fateh, Sonu Sood’s much-awaited, has finally released today, January 10, 2025, as the debut of Indian cinema Sonu Sood as the director. Also starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Naseeruddin Shah, and Vijay Raaz, the film is produced under the banner of Shakti Sagar Productions and Zee Studios. The release comes amidst tough competition ahead of the Hindi-dubbed version of Ram Charan’s Game Changer and henceforth Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai, which was re-released today, and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Ticket prices in the ₹99-112 range contributed to the film’s good opening-day likely attendance at the box office. The advance found Fateh with a promising opening at the box office with 15,000 tickets sold in pre-sales through select leading national chains. Now, the reviews and word of mouth from early audiences will proceed to decide the trajectory of the film going into the coming days.
Fateh, though in good standing with its debut, unfortunately has its own set of competition to contend with. The reach of Ram Charan’s Game Changer, also opening to mixed word of mouth in regional markets. Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel’s Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai, again released today, which nostalgia blurred for some audiences to go watch in theaters.
Another big competition, Fateh, opened against the bombastic re-release of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Having hit theater screens on January 3, this 2013 cult classic is already the first box office hit of 2025, making it harder for Fateh to score good loot.
With an engaging narrative and the directorial debut of Sonu Sood as the two selling points of Fateh, for good times to be sustained for the movie, the latter looks forward to the audience support. If positivity spreads, the film has an excellent opportunity to do a steady number at the box office.
