Sohum Shah’s gamble pays off! Crazxy’s revised climax brings in more viewers on day 8

Crazxy, an intense thriller directed by Girish Kohli, features Sohum Shah in the lead role as Dr. Abhimanyu Sood, a surgeon racing against time to save his daughter from kidnappers. The film, produced by Sohum Shah Films, marks Kohli’s directorial debut and has been in theaters for over a week now. Despite its intriguing premise and strong performances, Crazxy has faced a lukewarm response, particularly in its opening week.

Box Office Performance and Response

Despite high expectations, Crazxy has struggled to generate significant box office numbers, grossing just Rs 5.7 crore in its first week. The film failed to reach Rs 1 crore on a daily basis after its opening weekend, indicating a lack of traction with audiences. While the film’s intense narrative and performances were appreciated by some, it couldn’t quite capture the mass audience it hoped for.

New Climax to Revive Interest

In response to feedback from cinegoers who felt the film’s ending lacked impact, the makers have made changes to the climax. Starting Friday, March 7, 2025, Crazxy will feature a new version with an altered ending, including a surprise twist. This revision aims to enhance the cinematic experience and potentially boost the film’s performance in the second weekend. It remains to be seen whether this adjustment will drive more viewers to theaters.

Sohum Shah’s Comeback and Rival Films

Crazxy marks Sohum Shah’s theatrical comeback after his critically acclaimed Tumbbad (2018), and while it hasn’t been a major box office hit, it has performed better than other recent releases like Superboys of Malegaon. It also faces competition from Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, which has been running parallel in cinemas.

With the new climax now in place, Crazxy will hope to regain momentum and attract more moviegoers in its second week.
