K-drama fans are in for a treat as Suzy and Kim Woo-bin reunite in the upcoming fantasy-romance series Genie, Make a Wish, premiering on October 3 via Netflix. The duo last appeared together in the emotional 2016 drama Uncontrollably Fond, which ended in heartbreak. This time, however, the tone is drastically different—with a supernatural twist and a comedic, love-hate dynamic.
A Psychopath Master and a Devilish Genie
In the newly released trailer, Suzy plays Ka-young, a stoic woman bound by her grandmother’s traditional ways, while Kim Woo-bin stars as Genie, a mischievous magical spirit who returns to the human world after a thousand-year hiatus. Ka-young is offered three wishes, but things take a dark turn when she realizes her wishes are haunted and come at a steep cost.
“Genie, Make a Wish follows the story of Genie — a magic spirit in a lamp who has come back to the human world after a millennium of his career being put on hold — as he encounters Ka-young, an impassive woman going through life on autopilot,” Netflix said in an official statement.
Star-Studded Cast and Exciting Reunion
The series also features Ahn Eun-jin, Noh Steve Sang-hyun, Ko Kyu-phil, and Lee Zoo-young in supporting roles.
Suzy, who rose to fame as a member of Miss A, made her acting debut in Dream High and solidified her acting chops with Architecture 101. She’s known for dramas like Start-Up, Anna, and Vagabond.
