Get Ready for the Most Intimate Look at Melania Trump’s Life in Her New Documentary!

The Melania Trump Documentary: A $40 Million Project That Will Change Everything!

Amazon Studios has officially announced Melania, a feature-length documentary exploring the life of former First Lady Melania Trump, set to hit cinemas on January 30, 2026. A global streaming release will follow on Prime Video. Acquired for a reported $40 million, the documentary promises an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at Melania’s life during the 20 days leading up to the 2025 U.S. presidential inauguration.

Directed by Brett Ratner—his first film since stepping away from Hollywood in 2017 following multiple sexual misconduct allegations, which he has denied—the documentary is expected to be one of Amazon’s most high-profile and potentially controversial political projects. Ratner, best known for Rush Hour and Red Dragon, has since relocated to Israel and is currently also working on a separate film about the Abraham Accords.

Melania is said to present the former First Lady’s perspective directly, offering exclusive footage of her daily activities during the White House transition. According to Amazon, the film includes “critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments,” documenting her efforts in orchestrating inauguration plans and reestablishing her public role.

Melania Trump herself is credited as a producer. In a January interview with Fox & Friends, she said filming began in November and captures her day-to-day life—from forming her First Lady team and preparing the White House residence, to managing the transition process.

She revealed the idea stemmed from the success of her memoir, praised for its unusually candid tone.

Adding to the media rollout, Amazon is also developing a three-part docuseries that will explore Melania’s life across New York, Washington D.C., and Palm Beach.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos reportedly attended Donald Trump’s 2025 inauguration, despite previous tensions with Trump over The Washington Post, adding further intrigue to the platform’s growing political content strategy.
