Netflix has officially confirmed that The Great Indian Kapil Show will return for its fifth season, extending its successful partnership with comedian Kapil Sharma and his beloved ensemble cast. After four widely watched seasons, the show is set to once again bring its signature blend of humour, celebrity banter and spontaneous comedy to audiences in India and across the globe.

The core cast will be back in action, with Kapil Sharma, Archana Puran Singh, Navjot Singh Siddhu, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, and Kiku Sharda reprising their roles. The team has expressed enthusiasm about continuing the show’s legacy while injecting fresh energy and new moments into the upcoming season.

In an official statement, the makers shared their excitement about the renewed collaboration with Netflix. “The Great Indian Kapil Show has always been about laughter that brings people together across ages and moments,” the statement read. The Great Indian Kapil Show is known for its lively mix of celebrity interviews, comedy sketches and audience interaction, a format that has resonated strongly with viewers. Meanwhile, a recent promo from the ongoing Season 4 featured actor Vijay Sethupathi, who appeared on the show alongside his Gandhi Talks co-stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Siddharth Jadhav, and music maestro A R Rahman. During the episode, Kapil Sharma revisited Sethupathi’s early career, leading to a candid and humorous exchange.

When asked about formal acting training, Sethupathi recalled working as an accountant for a theatre group before transitioning to the stage. Responding to Kapil’s question about his shift to acting, Sethupathi quipped, “Nahi, maine apna account dekha, paisa nahi tha toh kamane ka,” prompting laughter from the audience.
