Kirti Kulhari’s Raw Truth About Four More Shots Please: Marriage, Separation, and Self-Discovery

Kirti Kulhari reflects on backlash, personal growth, and breaking down as Four More Shots Please! ends—marking the close of a bold OTT era.

Prime Video’s bold and widely popular series Four More Shots Please! has officially come to an end with its final season releasing on December 19. As fans bid an emotional goodbye to the unapologetically flawed women at the heart of the show, actor Kirti Kulhari has reflected on how the series—and the years spent making it—deeply transformed her both professionally and personally.

In a candid conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Kirti, who played a divorced mother and fiercely independent lawyer on the show, revisited the cultural impact of Four More Shots Please! when it first premiered in 2019. At the time, Indian screens were still uneasy with women openly expressing desire, ambition, and contradiction—and the show sparked immediate controversy.

“Even before the full season dropped, the trailer itself rattled a lot of men,” Kirti recalled. “There was outrage; some said, ‘How dare this show exist?’ Interestingly, more men than women had a problem with it.” She added that the discomfort stemmed from uncertainty about what the show might awaken within its viewers—an unease that, according to her, never entirely disappeared.

Over the years, however, the audience evolved, and so did the show’s reception. Kirti noted that the conversations sparked by Four More Shots Please! allowed it to steadily grow its fan base, eventually becoming a cultural touchstone for women-led storytelling on OTT platforms.

Beyond the screen, Kirti experienced significant life changes during the show’s run. “These last seven or eight years have brought immense personal growth,” she shared. During this period, she got married and later separated—experiences that reshaped her understanding of herself. “When I look back at the woman I was eight years ago, I don’t deny her, but I barely recognise her now.”

The show also helped her grow more confident in her own skin. “Before the show, my comfort with my body, dressing up, and putting myself out there was much lower,” she admitted. Four More Shots Please! introduced her to comedy and glamour, ultimately allowing her to embrace both glamour and simplicity with equal ease.

Speaking about the final wrap, Kirti became emotional. “When the announcement came—‘It’s a wrap on Four More Shots Please!’—I completely broke down,” she said. The realization that the cast—also starring Sayani Gupta, Bani J, and Maanvi Gagroo—might never come together again was overwhelming.

As the curtain falls, Four More Shots Please! leaves behind a legacy of fearless storytelling and women who dared to live loudly, imperfectly, and honestly.
