Super Subbu Trailer Reveals A Teacher’s Most Unexpected Assignment Yet

Super Subbu follows a teacher sent to a remote village where he faces unexpected challenges, misunderstandings and a unique teaching role.

Netflix has released the trailer for Super Subbu, its first Telugu comedy series. Created and directed by Mallik Ram, the show stars Sundeep Kishan, Mithila Palkar and Murali Sharma in important roles. The series is set to premiere on July 2. The story follows Subramanyam “Subbu” Chillukuri Rao, a teacher who is assigned to work in Maakipur, a fictional village with a reputation that makes it an unpopular posting among teachers. Wanting to maintain a good image in front of his family, Subbu arrives in the village prepared to do his job. However, he soon discovers that his biggest challenge will be very different from what he expected.

Instead of handling regular classroom lessons, Subbu is given the responsibility of teaching sex education. With very little experience in the subject and facing a community where rumours spread quickly, he finds himself in a series of awkward and often humorous situations. Every question turns into a discussion, every misunderstanding grows larger and privacy becomes difficult to maintain.

As Subbu tries to help the villagers understand important topics, he must also deal with local beliefs, unexpected friendships and the daily challenges of life in Maakipur. According to the show’s description, he learns that even “no means no” is a complete sentence. Along the way, he realizes that while he is trying to bring change to the village, the village is also changing him.

The series is written by Mallik Ram, Ramesh Eligeti and Shivani Dhobal. It is produced by Rajiv Chilaka and Bharath Laxmipati under the banner of Chilaka Productions.

Apart from the lead cast, the show also features Get Up Srinu, Maanasa Choudhary, Jeevan and Brahmanandam in supporting roles. Their characters add more humour, unpredictability and energy to the story, contributing to the lively atmosphere of Maakipur.

Super Subbu combines comedy with themes of personal growth, social conversations and life in a small town. Through its central character’s experiences, the series explores how misunderstandings, relationships and everyday situations can shape people in unexpected ways.

Super Subbu will begin streaming on Netflix on July 2.
