Marvel Animation has officially dropped the trailer for Eyes of Wakanda, a limited animated series that explores the rich history and legacy of Wakanda. The four-episode series premiers on August 1 on Disney+. The new series takes a new approach to the Black Panther universe by exploring the Hatut Zeraze — an elite force of Wakandan warriors who were entrusted with a divine mission: guarding Vibranium on all continents.

Developed by Familiar Visionaries
Eyes of Wakanda is executive produced by Black Panther helmer Ryan Coogler through his Proximity Media banner, as a part of his overall TV deal with Disney. Todd Harris created and directed the series, having been previously a storyboard artist on Black Panther and Wakanda Forever. His background ensures that the show looks as beautiful and stays true to the franchise’s central themes.

A Global, Historical Adventure
The shows track the Hatut Zeraze as they journey outside the boundaries of Wakanda to reclaim Vibranium artifacts that are spread across various timelines and geographies. Every episode transports audiences to a new location, interweaving action, culture, and history within an around-the-world adventure. This fresh take allows for further delving into Wakanda’s heritage and its significance in world history, unlike anything that has been presented before in the MCU.

Star-Studded Voice Cast
The voice acting features Winnie Harlow, Anika Noni Rose, Cress Williams, Lynn Whitfield, Patricia Belcher, and several others. They strive to infuse authenticity and emotion into the animated platform.

A Return to Wakanda’s Legacy
Eyes of Wakanda is the first big Black Panther-related endeavor following 2022’s Wakanda Forever. With an engaging narrative, solid creative team, and a rich visual animated aesthetic, fans can look forward to a bold and emotional ride through the history of Wakanda when the series comes out on Disney+ this August.
