0

Ranbir Kapoor is the best fit to play Sanjay Dutt on-screen, says the latter's RUDRAKSH co-star Suniel Shetty.

Suniel was present at the semi-final of the Wheelchair Cricket Series between India and Bangladesh on Tuesday.

As Sanjay's biopic is in the making, Suniel was asked if there will ever be a film on his life.

He told the media: "I don't think its worthy, but Sanjay's biopic is happening and I think nobody else would do a better job at playing Sanjay than Ranbir. I saw Ranbir's pictures and he looks exactly like Sanjay."

Suniel was happy about supporting a tournament for the physically challenged.

"I think cricket on a wheelchair is an amazing concept, I would like to congratulate the organisers and NGOs those have made it happen. We should take more initiatives like these. By God's grace we have everything and still if we look at their spirit and energy we will be able to learn a lot.

"So when I was told such a tournament was going to take place between two countries (Bangladesh and India), I thought it is important that I become a part of this. I always think God has given us so many privileges, so it is important that we can do as much as possible for others.

He said people are trying to do their bit for the specially-abled people.

"I run an NGO myself. It is called 'Save the Children India'. They work really hard for specially-abled kids. They also organise sports tournaments for them and we get around 18 to 19 teams from Maharashtra. Just looking at them and their spirit makes you feel like you have to do more and more for them."

On the big screen, Suniel was last seen in a negative role in the 2017 release A GENTLEMAN directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. It also featured Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Suniel's upcoming project is titled A. B. C., directed by Ramkumar Shedge and produced by Meehir Kulkarni. The other cast members include Tamannaah Bhatia, Sunny Pawar, Vijay Patkar and Ravi Kishan.

Akshay Kumar has played the hero to countless damsel in distress throughout his career but this time he had to rescue his wife. Last year Twinkle Khanna had posted a snide remark about public defecation and was trolled and slammed for being insensitive towards slum-dwellers who have no access to public, in her defense she had given a clarification stating that there was a public toilet just minutes away.

Her post read, “Good morning and I guess here is the first scene of Toilet Ek Prem Katha part 2 #WhenYourWalkGoesDownTheToilet”

Showing his full commitment to the film TOILET- EK PREM KATHA, Akshay has funded a row of bio toilets to be installed for the public on Juhu beach.

It was reported in Times of India that the toilets funded by Akshay Kumar may not completely solve the open defecation issue but it will surely reduce it and a couple of more toilets will make Juhu and Versova beach free from open defecation.

Akshay Kumar has teamed up with Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray and has spent around the sum of 10 lac Rupees for the bio- toilets. Assistant Municipal Commissioner, K-West ward, Prashant Gaikwad, said “The toilets have bio-digester so there will be no stink. The toilets will bring a lot of relief to not just the local slum dwellers, but also to visitors.”

BMC had launched a campaign to curb the issue of open defecation and according to their data the city had 117 major open defecation spots which they claim have been dealt with.

It is nice to see actors take initiative and make their art a part of their life and bring about a change that can immensely help the city and lead by example for the rest of its citizens.
