Actor Arjun Bijlani’s career has been growing with every project he takes up on television — from the studious boy in 'Miley Jab Hum Tum' to the ambitious man in 'Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil'. Amidst this popularity, the actor never forgets to thank his fans.

“I think that fans are one of the most important part of my life now. They define who I am in terms of my career and they give so much unconditional love. It makes you want to work harder, makes you feel happy,” says Arjun.

The Ishq Mein Marjawan actor adds, “I hope that this grows in the future and that’s what I want to take away with me in this life — my fans’ love and care for me.”

Besides India, Arjun’s popularity has also grown a lot in Thailand, which is an expanding market for Indian television industry. The actor, who was seen in 'Naagin', recently went there to promote his show and was surprised to see that it’s not just Indian fans who love him unconditionally but local people as well. “There were close to 60,000-70,000 people [at the event] as Naagin is one of the most hit shows there. So, it was an overwhelming experience and the fans out there are really loving, very warm. I had one of the best times at this event,” he says.

Elaborating on reports of fans crying after seeing him, Arjun says, “Yeah, a couple of fans and started crying. I didn’t know how to react when I saw them. All I knew was that jaadu ki jhappi always works. I just hugged all of them.”

The poster for the film 102 NOT OUT was released today which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor, the film is based on a Gujarati play of the same name.

Amitabh is set to play the 102 year old father to the 75 year old character of Rishi Kapoor in the drama comedy, and they are set to pair after more than two decades with their last film together being Ajooba.

Rishi Kapoor described in his autobiography that working with Amitabh Bachchan had its ups and downs but they connected instantly while reading the script with the team.

The poster shows Amitabh standing beside Rishi Kapoor in the poster who is about to hatch out of an egg, a clever play on the coming-of-age idiom. The poster also reveals the light hearted tagline ‘baap cool, beta old school’ which probably reveals the carefree attitude of Amitabh’s character and the cautious and careful character portrayed by Rishi Kapoor, with a water color background which embodies the light hearted feel of the film.

Director Umesh Shukla who delivered OMG: OH MY GOD! is set to direct with playwright stepping in to write the film.

The plot revolves around Amitabh’s character trying to beat the record for the oldest living person which is held by a Chinese man.

102 NOT OUT is produced by SPE Films India, Treetop Entertainment and Shukla’s Benchmark Pictures. The film releases worldwide on May 4, 2018.

Umesh Shukla: 102 NOT OUT is very young at heart

As the first look of 102 NOT OUT– featuring Amitabh Bachchan as a cool 102-year-old father and Rishi Kapoor as his old school son — came out on Friday, director Umesh Shukla said the film is very young at its core, and is confident that it will appeal to all the age groups.

102 NOT OUT will bring forward the relationship between the 102-year-old father and his 75-year-old son on the silver screen.

Starting the countdown to the trailer of the film — which stars cinema legends Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor, the first look of the film was released on the social media. The look is very quirky, and shows Rishi coming out of an egg shell, while Big B — with his silver mane — is seen laughing mischievously at his on-screen son.

Shukla says they plan to release a series of posters, and the first look marked the beginning of their campaign.

"We want this fun to grow in a particular manner, so that is why we have used comic element," Shukla told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

"We are releasing a series of posters… You will come to know more about the characters after second or third poster, and then the trailer."

Billed as the most unusual father and son love story, 102 NOT OUT is based on playwright Saumya Joshi's well-known Gujarati play by the same name.

102 NOT OUT is produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment Films India, Treetop Entertainment and Shukla's Benchmark Pictures. The film is slated to release worldwide on May 4, and its trailer will be out on March 27.

The film is about a centenarian who wants to break the world record of being the oldest man alive, which is held by a 118-year-old Chinese man. He plans to do it by putting his son in an old age home.

"For the first time, Amitabh and Chintuji (Rishi) are essaying Gujarati characters. We have seen them as friends and brothers, but not like father and son. People will love them. After watching the film, people would like to take them home (in their mind) and not leave them behind in the theatre."

The OMG: OH MY GOD! director says Big B and Rishi got onto the project in only ten minutes.

"They loved the script so much. We narrated it to them and in ten minutes they loved the idea. And then we sat on the script. They were on board from the first day only.

"It was never like 'I will read the script and then decide'. The storyline is so unique and interesting."

Shukla says the film explores the subject of longevity.

"What are the qualities that you need to not just live long but also to live happy. It is a very young film and youngsters will love this film," he added.

In fact, Big B and Rishi were in awe of the fresh and fun take in the poster campaign as well.

"They loved it. They were in sync with it. We didn't want to show two old man sitting on a bench in a garden — which is the image which comes into the mind of many.

"Our marketing team worked on the idea and then we showed the presentation to the actors. They loved it and said it is very fresh, new and unique," Shukla said, signing off with a promise to divulge more once the trailer is launched.

Meanwhile, Randeep plays the lead actor on the 1990s set show 'Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai', which revolves around his character and Naina's love story.

"I found it difficult to believe in this 'filmy' romance about the things portrayed in movies by Shah Rukh Khan. I used to mock the ideology of people falling in love at first sight and the way they kept romance alive with minimal interactions," he said.

"But since the time I started working on 'Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai', these aspects started making sense to me," he added.

0

Actress Rakul Preet feels it is very important for everyone to go through ups and downs, and says failure teaches more than success.

"In life, failure teaches more than success because if you don't have failures you will never value success and never understand how it is to taste success," Rakul told IANS.

"It is very important for everyone to go through ups and downs because only then you will take your job seriously, be thankful for everything you have and like we have grown up hearing 'Failures are pillars of success'… Without failure there isn't any excitement about the success that you get," she added.

Rakul has featured in Telugu and Hindi films. In Bollywood, she has done YAARIYAN and AIYAARY — both the movies turned out to be duds at the box office.

The actress has also launched her app in collaboration with New York-based firm EscapeX. Rakul Preet Singh Official App will feature fan feed which will enable the fans to post in the app along with other features.

Talking about the app, she said: "The app's idea was given to me by the main company, Escapex and when they bought it to my notice and the whole concept. I was first a little hesitant, to be honest.

"I thought wouldn't it be too self-obsessed to have an app of your own but when I understood the features I thought it was great platform to be able to connect with the fans and I always believe that they are the ones who make you and we really need to be in touch with in some way."
