Kartik Aaryan: I am like a girl in any relationship

0

Kartik Aaryan rightly known as the ‘Punchanma boy’, has enthralled us with his performance in PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 1 and 2. He became famous with his monologue and he is the only actor to shine in anti-love genre. Now, SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY, which is releasing this Friday, is not an exact sequel to the film, however, it’s on the similar lines.

SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY stars Sunny Singh, Nushrat Bharuch and Kartik Aaryan.

This time the plot of the film is bromance v/s romance. This is also the fourth time that Kartik will be showcasing his acting talent under the baton of director of Luv Ranjan.

In an exclusive conversation with Kartik Aaryan he spoke about his camaraderie with director Luv Ranjan, working with Nushrat for the fourth time and how similar or different is Kartik from the roles he portrays onscreen.

When asked how it is working with Luv for the fourth time in a row and how have you evolved as an actor, Kartik says, “This is my fourth film with Luv so now there is no need to spell out things. I am really lucky for his belief that together we can achieve something. He knows the pulse of the youth. Though it took time for me to get my start but I was lucky that PKP was my debut film and thankfully the journey is still on.”

Despite the success he has delivered with his films, Kartik has often been accused of doing stereotypical roles in his films, to which Kartik says, I don’t see a point. Whenever I meet someone there is always a smile on his/her face and that’s because they love my work. Box office is something that is not in my hand but I do want to work in an earnest manner. It’s not like we have recreated PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA again in SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY. I am in the happiest phase of my life, who gets to do such anti-love kind of films. I have no competition in the genre. I have been getting praise from all around the world and fans really like it. The point is I can’t make everyone happy and at the end of the day I too, have to be happy. If the script of SKTKS is appealing, then why should I say no to the film?”

Not many are aware that, Kartik holds an engineering degree in biotechnology. Hailing from a middle class family based out of Gwalior, Kartik appeared only in those entrance exams which guaranteed admission in Mumbai as he wanted to pursue his tinsel town dreams simultaneously. “I consider myself an educated actor. I would have quit studies midway after I bagged my first film but I paid heed to my mother’s advice and finished my degree. Acting in film was the core reason to make Mumbai my base. I come from a middle class family and my parents too wanted to see me become an engineer or a doctor,” says Kartik

After Kartik made it to DY Patil College in Navi Mumbai, travelling from Nerul to Andheri and back in a local train became everyday routine for him. The two-hour journey is an arduous task to say the least but the yearning to learn acting and look for opportunities was overpowering. “I also joined an acting school and the teachers there saw some potential in me and thus started giving me free acting lectures. In a span of two years I must have given more than 100 auditions and somewhere down the line I was also losing hope to make it as an actor as nothing was materializing. I finally got an opportunity with PKP, the auditions for which lasted six months. I was given the monologue in the final phase of the audition and the very next day I was given the contract. I have no regrets that I could not become a full-fledged engineer as that was never the motive.”

Well and the most famous monologue which we love of Kartik right from PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 1, When quizzed Kartik if there is a monologue in SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY, he said, “ This film is very close to my heart and is something that has never been attempted before by the industry. It’s a non-cliché film and sooner or later will definitely get its due. Whether you get to see a monologue or not that you will get to know only on 23 February, I simply can’t reveal anything.”

When asked, how much does Bollywood numbers matter to you, “Earlier I used to keep a tab but now no more. People often request me to say the monologue at gatherings. I feel very happy that I got such a dialogue at the start of my career which most actors crave for. There are very few actors who got such a terrific sequence or dialogues in their profession which remained a highlight throughout their career. I am grateful that I have two such iconic scenes,” says an elated Kartik.

As Kartik has worked with Nushrat fourth time, when asked him how has his bonding changed over the years, to which he said, “Nushrat is fun lovingly girl, she is full of life and the bond we share is seen on screen. We have always been fighting on screen and off –screen as well, (chuckles).”

As Kartik is known for anti- love films we asked him what’s his idea of love and romance for him to which he said, “I am just like a girl in any relationship. I am more of a soft; sensitive and kind-hearted and will go miles for my relationship.”

He ends saying he would love to do an out and out comedy film if he is offered.

Here’s wishing Kartik Aaryan all the very best for SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY.

BAAGHI 2 trailer is explosive: Meet our desi ‘Rambo’ Tiger Shroff!

0

If BAAGHI was rebellious where Tiger Shroff blew away the opponents with his martial arts techniques, then BAAGHI 2 will be action reloaded what with Tiger seen in a never seen before avatar. Tiger is way more deadly, muscular, ferocious, fearless and stern as compared to its prequel.

Going by BAAGHI 2 first trailer that released today after generating enough curiosity around, it looks like an action extravaganza with wrath written over Tiger’s face and eyes. In fact, mere his angry look or clenched fists are enough to make the rivals go weak in their knees! He is a one-man army, as described by one of the characters in the film, who can take on the entire bunch of goons with his single powerful kick.

Tiger is not only seen in his elements but he is also seen going wilder than ever with flying kicks, packing punches, wielding machine guns, knocking down the baddies in one go. Whereas his leading lady Disha Patani is seen seeking help of him. Though her presence his miniscule in the trailer with Tiger taking over throughout, Disha’s presence adds some charm. However, we expected a bit more to see the pretty lady, some breezy romance glimpse between the duo. Perhaps, the makers have saved it for other trailers & teasers that will release subsequently.

Besides, this time around BAAGHI 2 is packed with a flock of baddies. While Manoj Bajpayee plays the antagonist, Randeep Hooda and Prateik Babbar play very quirky & kinky characters.
With cropped hairs, bronzer look, muscular physique, chiseled body, wielding deadly guns & crisp dialogues (Jo Tera Tortue Hai, Woh Mera Warm-up Hai), it looks like we have got our first desi Rambo in the form of Tiger Shroff!

BAAGHI 2 first trailer is indeed explosive! Looks like Tiger is going to slay it with this high-octane action drama!

Co-Produced by Fox Star Studios and Sajid Nadiadwala, BAAGHI 2 is slated to release on March 30, 2018.

Taapsee Pannu: I still feel like a struggler

0

She has received appreciations from critics and audiences alike for films like PINK, NAAM SHABANA and JUDWAA 2, but actress Taapsee Pannu, who has been described as the "most powerful woman of the year" by a magazine, says she is yet to touch stardom and still feels like a struggler.

Considering her achievements, does she feel she has gained stardom?

"Not at all. I don't even feel like a star. I still feel like a struggler because I need to really work hard and make sure that my Friday works for me. I still don't feel I am the one who will get the audience into theatres as yet. I don't see that I have that pull, I am trying to make that," Taapsee told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

She started her career as a model in 2008 and made her acting debut with Telugu film JHUMMANDI NAADAM in 2010. Three years later, she stepped into Bollywood with CHASHME BADDOOR.

"The day I feel my audience is taking a ticket of my film and says 'It's Taapsee's film, let's go and watch it', that day I will believe I am a star, before that no," she added.

She has featured in a myriad of genres like comedy, thriller, drama, courtroom drama and romance.

Asked if she is trying to balance between genres, she said: "Of course yes, that is the idea behind mixing things up because I feel if I keep doing hard-hitting films which people (the audience) have loved me in and I am very happy about it, I feel people will stereotype me. They will start calling me that I am someone who does only these kind of not so mainstream cinema."

The actress says she does not want to get pigeonholed in a particular genre.

"I don't want them (the audience) to stereotype me because then the impact of these hard-hitting films will die down after a time because they would know what they would expect out of me. So, the fun is to mix and match because then you don't know what you are coming up with next," she added.

Taapsee, 30, is riding the burgeoning wave of films with female lead or co-lead roles with films like BABY, NAAM SHABANA and PINK. She feels confident that it is a trend going in the right direction and will continue.

Talking about the swift change from male to female lead actors in films, Taapsee said: "Of course efforts have been made and I am so happy to see each and every leading lady trying to make an effort to do a female-centric film. I think it's a good way to begin at least to be open to taking risks and chances."

The actress said that when she made her debut, she only saw particular actresses, who weren't termed as mainstream heroines and doing female-centric movies.

"But within four years, you can see such a huge change where all the female A-listers, mainstream actresses today are doing at least one female-centric film a year which is so beautiful to see and the result of it is at par as the male-centric film but at least it is headed towards the right direction," she added.

Taapsee also credits the audience for the positive shift.

"We are giving the audience content and the audience is slightly opening up I feel… At least they are giving us little bit of an opportunity. We just need to make sure to do good films as female protagonists as the audience continues to believe in us," she added.
