Prior to making a dramatic comeback in Aryan Khan’s The Ba*ds of Bollywood, Rajat Bedi, the actor, was set to make a comeback in the limelight courtesy Salman Khan’s 2021 action film Radhe. But, much against expectations, Rajat was edited out from the movie — not because of the usual reshuffling of casts, but because Salman himself stepped in with a guarantee: to make it a better comeback.

In an old interview that resurfaced, Rajat had shared that he was approached by the team of casting director Mukesh Chhabra for a job in Radhe and that he had accepted an offer. “Radhe main maine bilkul offer accept kiya. Mujhe Mukesh Chhabra ke office se phone aaya ki aap select ho gaye ho Radhe ke liye. Mujhe laga bohot badhiya comeback vehicle mil jayega,” reminisced Rajat. Thrilled by the prospect, he even met with the scriptwriters of the film, who were also thrilled at his comeback.

Rajat mentioned happily about his close connections with Salman Khan’s family, saying that his grandfather and father had long associations with Salim Khan. “Unke saath kaam karne ka ek mauka mil jaye, voh hi bohot hai mere liye,” he explained. But plans were different with Salman.

After hearing of Rajat’s casting, Salman himself called him. “Bhai ne mujhe bulaya… jab bhai ko pata laga ki Rajat voh role karne wala hai, tab bhai ne kaha, ‘Rajat, tu wait kar thoda sa; I want to give you a comeback vehicle which will be much better than Radhe.'” Salman liked Rajat’s body and on-screen presence and told him he should be brought back stronger to the movies. “Bhai called and said, ‘Teri height, body aur personality are very good; you wait, I’m going to give you a big comeback.'”

In a recent interview to PTI, Rajat spoke about how heartbroken he was then. “I was heartbroken. I was like, ‘Sir, I’m getting a film to do with you and you’re saying, ‘I’ll give you something better, wait.’ I said, ‘Okay, I’m waiting to work with bhai again.'”

Although Rajat has not yet featured with Salman Khan in a full-length film, fans did catch Salman making a guest appearance in Rajat’s recent comeback series, The Ba*ds of Bollywood. With Rajat now earning accolades for his strong performance in the series, people are hoping that Salman’s much-hyped comeback project could be in the pipeline now.

He continued to explain how the scene unfolded organically: “Emraan sir aaye aur woh scene hua, main rone bhi lag gaya scene mein! Aur wo bante bante ban gaya aisa scene — bahut hee dil se kiya maine.” Raghav further explained that he consciously picked singing the Arabic version of a song in the scene, thinking it would add to the humor without compromising on the authenticity of the moment.

The film boasts a stellar cast including Yash as Ravan, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh will essay the roles of Mandodari and Surpanakha, respectively. The movie is being produced on a huge scale and will come out in two parts — Ramayana Part 1 on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 on Diwali 2027.

Furthermore, fans are looking forward to the sequel to Animal, named Animal Park, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Following the huge success of Animal, the anticipation for the sequel is high.
