Fans of Salman Khan and the iconic Dabangg franchise have a major reason to celebrate — Dabangg 4 is officially in development. Arbaaz Khan, who has been closely associated with the franchise since its inception, recently confirmed that the fourth instalment is indeed happening, though the team has not locked in a timeline yet. The update has sparked excitement among fans who have been waiting since the 2019 release of Dabangg 3 to see Salman Khan reprise his much-loved role as the fearless and quirky cop, Chulbul Pandey.

In a conversation with Zoom, Arbaaz shared that while Dabangg 4 is in the pipeline, the makers are taking their time. “It’s something that is in the pipeline, but I don’t know the timeline,” he said. Responding to the constant inquiries about the film’s progress, he added, “Everybody’s patent question is when is Dabangg 4 going to come? So that’s my answer — it’s happening, but I can’t say when.”

Arbaaz further emphasised that the team is in no rush to push the project forward prematurely. “We’re working on it and no hurry. It is something that Salman and we will discuss and do. It will happen. I don’t know when, but whenever it happens, it’ll be something to look forward to,” he assured fans.

The Dabangg franchise has enjoyed immense popularity since the first film released in 2010. Directed by Abhinav Kashyap, the movie redefined the masala entertainer genre with its blend of action, emotion, humour, and swagger. Salman Khan’s portrayal of Chulbul Pandey complete with his signature belt-flip, cheeky one-liners, and larger-than-life persona made him an instant cultural icon. The film also introduced Sonakshi Sinha as Rajjo, who became a franchise regular.

Following the blockbuster success of the first film, Dabangg 2 arrived in 2012, this time directed by Arbaaz Khan himself. The third instalment, Dabangg 3, released in 2019 under the direction of Prabhu Deva, further explored Chulbul Pandey’s backstory.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan continues to stay active across television and film. He is currently hosting Bigg Boss 19, maintaining his strong presence on the small screen. On the film front, he was last seen in A.R. Murugadoss’ action drama Sikandar.

Next, Salman is gearing up for Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film, slated for a 2026 release, is expected to depict the events of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between India and China, paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Army.

Independent Film Project (IFP) marks its fifteenth anniversary with a festival that embodies its core ethos: Creativity × Culture. Over the years, IFP has evolved into one of India’s most dynamic creative gatherings, and its Season 15 edition promises to be its most expansive yet. Scheduled for November 29 and 30 at Mumbai’s iconic Mehboob Studios, the festival brings together innovators across film, music, design, writing, photography, advertising, podcasting, gaming, tech, food, and digital storytelling.

The two-day event will offer conversations, masterclasses, performances, workshops, and immersive cultural experiences — all designed to reflect how contemporary creators think, collaborate, and build narratives. Season 15 is set to be a vibrant confluence of ideas and artistic experimentation, featuring voices that continue to shape India’s creative ecosystem.

This year’s line-up features some of the most compelling names in cinema and the arts. Announced guests include Siddhant Chaturvedi, Adarsh Gourav, Hansal Mehta, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Robert B. Weide, Vasan Bala, Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Abhishek Bachchan, Shoojit Sircar, Shahid Kapoor, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Richa Chadha. With such diverse perspectives and creative styles, the festival promises to spark conversations that will resonate far beyond the two-day celebration.

Abhishek Bachchan, who returns to the festival this year, expressed his enthusiasm for his session titled Becoming Arjun. “Arjun from I Want to Talk is a character who has stayed with me,” he said. “It will be great fun to sit with Shoojit Sircar and pull apart how we built him. IFP has always been a space where creators feel at home, and it’s great to be part of that community this year.”

Celebrity chef and actor Ranveer Brar will also take the stage with a session titled Food of the Future Past. Reflecting on the theme, he shared, “I’ve always been drawn to the stories behind things—where they start, how they change, and the memories that shape them. This session lets me revisit what we grew up with, left behind, and now want to return to. There’s a quiet poetry in that journey.”

The festival will further spotlight new-age creators in a panel moderated by Shamani Joshi, featuring Raja Kumari, Mae Thomas, Hariharan, Akshay Hariharan, Tarsame Mittal, Dino James, and Agam Walia.

For audiences who grew up in the early 2000s, Vishal Malhotra is remembered as the charismatic best friend — the dependable, endearing presence in films like Ishq Vishk, Jannat, and Kismat Konnection. Yet behind that familiar on-screen image lay a story the industry rarely acknowledged: a career abruptly stalled, a reinvention sparked by necessity, and a comeback powered by entrepreneurial grit. Today, Malhotra stands as one of Bollywood’s most unconventional self-made success stories, having rebuilt his career through advertising, retail, and ultimately, NFTs.

Speaking at a TEDx event, Malhotra traced his journey back to an unexpected encounter in college. “Around 30 years ago, I was bunking a class when a very beautiful girl started walking towards me,” he recalled. She was scouting for the face of a new channel and approached him directly. One audition later, Malhotra became the face of Disney India, hosting shows through the late ’90s and early 2000s and becoming a fixture in the childhood memories of an entire generation.

His transition to Bollywood brought recognition but also limitations. Typecasting became a trap. Filmmakers repeatedly saw him only as the hero’s friend — the humorous sidekick, the affable companion. When Malhotra pushed back, hoping for more challenging roles, his career took an unexpected hit. In an interview with Hindi Rush, he recounted how a prominent producer reacted badly to his request for deeper characters. “That big producer took it on his ego,” he said. “I had no work for two years. I was very scared after that.”

What sustained him during this period were financial lessons instilled early by his parents. His mother insisted he save and invest from the moment he began earning. “Whatever you are giving me today, you will be able to buy a house in five years with this money,” she had told him — advice that later proved crucial.

When the film offers dried up, Malhotra stepped away and built an advertising agency. He began working with major retail chains, selling everyday paper products — “everything from tissue papers to toilet rolls,” he said. That unlikely chapter opened new doors, but it was the rise of NFTs that truly transformed his trajectory. Becoming the first Indian actor to create and sell an NFT, he found a new creative outlet and financial opportunity. When rumours of India banning crypto surfaced, he sold his NFTs, walking away with what he called “a good amount of pocket change.”

With that money, Malhotra wrote, produced, and directed Ilm — the world’s first feature film fully funded by an NFT. In doing so, he didn’t just reinvent himself; he redefined what a Bollywood comeback can look like.

These visuals, however, bear telltale signs of AI manipulation and are not official photos released by the couple.

Prior to the announcement, sources at the HN Reliance Foundation Hospital, where Katrina delivered the baby, had confirmed the good news, stating that both mother and child were doing well.
