Project Hail Mary Sees Strong Growth At Indian Box Office In Second Weekend

The Hollywood film Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling, is performing well at the Indian box office. The science fiction film has shown strong growth in its second weekend, indicating that it is being accepted by the audience.

On its second Friday, the film earned around Rs. 4.50 crore, which is about 35 per cent higher than the previous Friday. The increase was partly supported by the Good Friday holiday, but the film had already been steady during the weekdays. This suggests that the growth is not only because of the holiday, but also due to positive response from viewers.

The film is expected to grow further over the weekend and may record its highest single day collection so far. After nine days in theatres, its total collection stands at around Rs. 34 crore. The second weekend is expected to add about Rs. 18 crore, which could take the total to more than Rs. 47 crore by Sunday.

Based on current trends, the film is likely to cross Rs. 50 crore by Tuesday. Earlier, this number was considered a possible total for its full run, but now it is expected to achieve it much sooner.

Looking ahead, the film’s performance in the coming weeks will be important. In India, Hollywood films usually do well if they are part of a known franchise or based on popular brands. However, some standalone films also perform strongly if they connect with the audience.

A similar example from last year is F1 The Movie, which collected around Rs. 125 crore in India. A large part of its earnings, more than Rs. 35 crore, came after the third week, showing that such films can continue to perform over time.

Project Hail Mary may follow a similar trend. It is expected to cross Rs. 75 crore, and there is a strong possibility that it could reach around Rs. 100 crore depending on how it performs in the next few weeks.

So far, the film is being seen as a rare success among standalone Hollywood releases in India, showing that audience interest can extend beyond franchise based films.

Box Office Collections In India
Week One 8 days Rs. 29.50 crore
2nd Friday Rs. 4.50 crore
Total Rs. 34.00 crore

How supporting actors are stealing the spotlight from Bollywood superstars

0

There is something interesting happening in Bollywood right now, and once you notice it, you cannot unsee it. Big stars are still bringing people to theatres, but they are not always the ones people remember when they walk out. Take Animal. It was clearly a Ranbir Kapoor film. He had the main role, the most screen time, and carried the story on his shoulders. The film was a huge success. But when people talked about it later, who did they keep mentioning? It was Bobby Deol. He had limited screen time, barely spoke, yet one song, one presence, and suddenly he became the most talked about part of the film.

Now look at Dhurandhar. Again, a big star like Ranveer Singh leads the film. The movie works, both with critics and at the box office. But the real conversation shifts somewhere else. Akshaye Khanna walks in with a certain style, a small dance step, a unique way of behaving, and suddenly people cannot stop talking about him. Then there is Rakesh Bedi, especially in the final part of the film. His character, his look, and that last stretch leave a strong impact that stays with the audience.

This is not a coincidence. This is a clear pattern.

Earlier, the rule was simple. The hero was everything. The bigger the star, the bigger the memory of the film. Supporting actors were important, but they were never the main takeaway. That is changing now.

Today, people do not consume films the same way. They watch clips, reels, short videos. Attention spans are shorter, and recall is built through moments, not the full story. So even if a hero carries the entire film, it is often one powerful scene or one striking character that people remember and share.

Supporting actors are quietly winning this game. They come in without pressure. They are not expected to carry the whole film. That gives them freedom. They can be louder, more stylish, or even more risky. And when they get it right, they stand out instantly.

Also, let’s be honest, audiences already know what to expect from stars like Ranbir Kapoor or Ranveer Singh. They are brilliant, but they are also familiar. On the other hand, when someone like Akshaye Khanna or Bobby Deol does something unexpected, it feels fresh. And freshness is what people talk about.

Another important point is how these characters are written now. Many supporting roles are designed to have one strong identity. It could be a look, a gesture, a dialogue style, or even just one standout scene. That is enough to make them unforgettable.

But there is also a risk here. If filmmakers start focusing too much on creating viral moments, films can start feeling like a collection of scenes instead of a complete story. The magic works only when the moments come naturally from the story, not when they are forced.

Still, for actors, this is a big opportunity. You do not need two hours of screen time anymore to make an impact. Sometimes, a few minutes are enough if you use them well.

And for the audience, this is actually exciting. It keeps films unpredictable. You walk in for the star, but you might walk out remembering someone else.

Because today, owning a film is not about how long you are on screen. It is about how hard you hit when you are.

They don’t know about us
How your voice
Can calm the sea-ea-ea
They know

I can show you love, I can show you
If you wanna know me, what can I do for you?
They keep asking just what was so different
I answer, I don’t know either
Everybody hears the story that they wanna
They popped off ’cause of this one thing, I’m for sure
We just big boys, a.k.a. country kids
Just riding the wave, just shut up, shut up, oh

Hold up, chill, and take a bubble bath, bae (Ayy)
Do the math and go, just say what you say (Just say)
Oh, it’s hard and that we cannot explain (Ayy)
Every time we tryna, tryna explain, we find

They don’t know ’bout us, they don’t know ’bout us (Oh-oh)
They don’t know ’bout us, they don’t know ’bout us (Oh, oh)
Thеy don’t know ’bout us, they don’t know ’bout us (Oh-oh)
They don’t know ’bout us, they don’t know ’bout us

Yеah, damn, ooh, damn right, ooh, damn right (They don’t know)
Yeah, damn, ooh, damn right, ooh, damn right (They don’t know)
Yeah, damn, ooh, damn right, ooh, damn right (They don’t know)
Yeah, damn, ooh, damn right, ooh, damn right (They don’t know)

I can show you love, I can show you
If you wanna know me, what can I do for you? (They don’t)
They keep asking just what was so different
I answer, I don’t know either
Always chasing the easy way out of no reason (Ayy)
Pacific deep in my business, you a slick clown (Uh)
Should I break it down for you, baby?
You don’t need to know, why you so pressed to find out? Ah (Ayy; Woo)
“Those guys are special (Special) among Asians,” ayy
“Some kinda heroic beings (Beings), too hard to break,” uh
Uh, we can’t relate (Late)
We’re just seven people though
Ah, you said we changed? (Changed)
We feel the same, shit

They don’t know ’bout us, they don’t know ’bout us (Oh-oh)
They don’t know ’bout us, they don’t know ’bout us (Oh, oh)
They don’t know ’bout us, they don’t know ’bout us (Oh-oh)
They don’t know ’bout us, they don’t know ’bout us

Yeah, damn, ooh, damn right, ooh, damn right
(They don’t know about us, they don’t know about us; They don’t know)
Yeah, damn, ooh, damn right, ooh, damn right
(They don’t know about us, they don’t know about us; They don’t know)
Yeah, damn, ooh, damn right, ooh, damn right
(They don’t know about us, they don’t know about us; They don’t know)
Yeah, damn, ooh, damn right, ooh, damn right
(They don’t know about us, they don’t know about us)

Born different, seven aliens (Ayy, ayy)
Green with jealousy, those civilians (Ayy, ayy)
Won’t waste my breath to explain, to the stadium, gather up

Hello, this your, hello, this your new honey
Clap and shake it to Jungmori rhythm
Oh my God, do I look too funny?
So what? Just move for me, yeah, move for me

From thе Ka-Na to the Ha, watch and learn from us
Yeah, wе aliens
If you wanna hit my house, shoes off at the door
Yeah, we aliens
The nerve on you, shameless
Show some respect, we aliens
Out of the East, the sun’s risin’

Still cursing us out? Misfortune turns into blessings
Pardon me, Kim Gu seonsaengnim, tell me how you feel
I’m the only one who can speak English, but that is how we kill
You guys with those big eyes say
Are they for real? For real?

Hello, this your, hello, this your new honey
Clap and shake it to Jungmori rhythm
Oh my God, do I look too funny?
So what? Just move for me, yeah, move for me

From the Ka-Na to the Ha, watch and learn from us

Dacoit Ek Prem Katha Isn’t What It Looks Like

0

There is something quite unusual about Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha, and it is not really what the title makes you expect. When you first hear the name, you think it will be a typical story about dacoits, love, revenge, and drama set in a rural backdrop. Hindi films have explored this space many times before, often making it larger than life or emotional in a very familiar way. But this film seems to be going in a different direction. Instead of making the dacoit look heroic or larger than life, it is trying to show him as a flawed human being. It is trying to understand his mind, his emotions, and his choices in a more real and uncomfortable way. That simple change in approach makes the film feel very different from what we are used to seeing.

At the center of the film is Adivi Sesh, who has built a reputation for being deeply involved in his work. He is not just acting here. He is also shaping the character and the way the story unfolds. His role is not designed to be a typical hero that the audience easily likes. Instead, it is someone the audience may question and even judge. This is quite different from the usual style where heroes are simplified and made easy to root for.

Opposite him, Mrunal Thakur appears to have a strong and important role. She is not just reacting to what is happening around her. She is actually driving the story forward. Her character is not necessarily meant to be soft or traditionally likeable. She seems to be someone who takes strong decisions, and those decisions shape the emotional journey of the film.

Then there is the director, Shaneil Deo, who comes from a cinematography background. This is important because it usually means the film will focus a lot on visuals and mood. It may tell parts of the story through images rather than long dialogues. While this can make the film feel more real and immersive, it can also be a challenge because audiences often expect clear and direct storytelling.

From a trade point of view, what makes this film interesting is the gap between how it looks and what it actually is. The title sounds simple and massy, something that a wide audience can easily connect with. But the actual treatment of the story seems deeper and more intense. This difference can work in two ways. It can either surprise the audience in a good way or create confusion if expectations are not met.

There is also a bigger trend being tested here. Instead of relying on scale, big visuals, or larger than life storytelling, this film seems to focus on performances, writing, and emotions that are not always comfortable. At a time when pan India films are often associated with grand visuals, this film is asking whether strong emotions and honest storytelling can connect just as well.

The result of this experiment will matter not just for this film but for many others that may follow. Because sometimes the bigger challenge is not making a grand film. The bigger challenge is making a truthful one.

I always wish you would s—
I always wish you would stop and—

Had a change of heart, I felt different at first
Lot of pain, lot of hurt, but still, could’ve been worse
In a big city, in pole position, when you reverse
She had that new convertible, the Lil Uzi Vert
Down payment on the cars that you love went on her purse
Go to work or whatever she said, whatever works

Unemployed, early in the story, I was startin’ off
Had the Ford Focus before I couldn’t afford a car
Now she finna throw it like she do it for an Audemar
Meetin’ with some ministers and kings, I was noddin’ off
Havеn’t seen a king that was royal as my daughters are
All fallin’ for the fakе news, man, I’m loggin’ off
They sent shots while we spin blocks in an armored car
Now they want the tea ’cause it’s pipin’ hot
Life gave me lemons, made an Arnold Palmer on the rocks
I feel like Arnold Schwarzenegger
Contract terminator on the spot
They wanna back and forth, I’d rather not
Yeezy airbags when I’m crashin’ out
They gon’ hate it with a passion now, I love it
Man

Had a change of heart, I felt different at first
Lot of pain, lot of hurt, but still, could’ve been worse, man
It still could’ve been worse
In a big city, in pole position, when you reverse
She had that new convertible, the Lil Uzi Vert
Down payment on the cars that you love went on her purse
Go to work or whatever she said, whatever works, works

Whatever works, works
Uh, whatever works, works
Whatever works, works
Whatever works, works
Whatever works, works
Whatever works, works
Whatever works, works
Whatever works, works

Meryl Streep Talks About Chick Flick Budget Struggles

0

Oscar winning actress Meryl Streep is returning as Miranda Priestly after 20 years in The Devil Wears Prada 2. The film is being made by 20th Century Studios and is scheduled to release this summer. Before the release, Meryl Streep spoke about how films led by women were earlier treated differently in terms of budgets. She said that such films were often labelled as “chick flicks,” and this affected how much money studios were willing to spend on them.

Speaking on The Late Show, she explained how things have started to change. She credited films like Barbie and Mamma Mia for helping improve the situation. These films showed that audiences are interested in stories where women are at the centre.

She said, “20 years ago, it was categorised as a chick-flick and that designation has kind of not worn well. After Barbie and Mamma Mia, to throw that in, and other films that completely catch the studios by surprise that people want to see them. Because they have women in the centre of the story. So, they were not… We had to scramble for our budget and that was true. I think I’ve talked to Greta [Gerwig] about it, that was true with Barbie a little bit, in comparison to what they spend on other films. This one, honey, they spent the money,” Meryl Streep said on The Late Show.

The sequel brings back the original cast from the 2006 film. Along with Meryl Streep, actors Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci will return to their roles. The story will again be set in New York City and will follow the world of Runway magazine.

The film also includes new cast members such as Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J Shen and BJ Novak.

Director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna are also returning. Actors Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman will reprise their earlier roles.

The film is set to release in cinemas on 1st May 2026.

You’re so revealing
You’re here but you’re not tonight
Your eyes on the ceiling
Your body away from mine

Yeah, you play games with love (Oh)
Yeah, you play games with love until it’s gone
You never get enough (Oh)
You never get enough of what you want

I miss lookin’ at you sideways
Face-to-face with your lips on mine
And our legs on the pillowcase
Sideways, late at night with your love lying next to mine
I miss lookin’ at you sideways, sideways, sideways (Miss lookin’, miss lookin’)
I miss lookin’ at you sidеways, sideways, yeah

It must be appеaling
To twist me up like you do
Then dangle your words like diamonds
They cut me, but I see through

Yeah, you play games with love (Oh)
Yeah, you play games with love until it’s gone (No, no, no, until it’s gone)
You never get enough (Oh)
You never get enough of what you want

[Chorus]
I miss lookin’ at you sideways
Face-to-face with your lips on mine
And our legs on the pillowcase
Sideways late at night with your love lying next to mine
I miss lookin’ at you sideways, sideways, sideways (Miss lookin’, miss lookin’)
I miss lookin’ at you sideways, sideways, yeah

[Bridge]
‘Cause it hurts me to watch you leave (You leave)
And it hurts me to watch you stay
And I know what it’s gonna be
But I just wanna stay sideways

I miss lookin’ at you sideways
Face-to-face with your lips on mine
And our legs on the pillowcase
Sideways, late at night with your love lying next to mine
I miss lookin’ at you sideways, sideways, sideways (Sideways)
I miss lookin’ at you sideways, sideways, yeah (Sideways)
I miss lookin’ at you sideways
Face-to-face with your lips on mine
And our legs on the pillowcase (Miss lookin’, miss lookin’)
Sideways, late at night with your love lying next to mine
I miss lookin’ at you sideways, sideways, sideways
I miss lookin’ at you sideways, sideways, yeah

Shawn Mendes And Bruna Marquezine Spotted Together At Rio Airport

Singer Shawn Mendes and actor Bruna Marquezine were recently seen together at an airport in Rio de Janeiro, drawing attention as they appeared comfortable and close with each other. The two were spotted at Galeão Airport on April 3 after arriving on a flight.

As they walked through the airport, Shawn Mendes and Bruna Marquezine were seen holding hands. Their relaxed and friendly behaviour suggested that they were enjoying each other’s company. They were also seen smiling and talking while making their way through the terminal.

Both were dressed casually for travel. Shawn wore a tan button up shirt with black pants, along with a brown cap and sunglasses. Bruna wore a brown and white striped shirt with jeans, paired with a green cap and sunglasses. Their simple outfits matched the relaxed setting of their travel appearance.

When they stepped outside the airport, Shawn was seen placing his arm around Bruna’s neck while they continued walking together. They appeared cheerful and were seen laughing, which added to the attention they received from onlookers.

The couple had first sparked dating rumours in December when they were seen showing affection in Rio de Janeiro. Their relationship became more clear in January when they were spotted together again in Los Angeles. Since then, they have been spending time together, especially in Brazil, where Bruna is from.

Before this, Shawn Mendes was in a relationship with singer Camila Cabello, and the two separated in 2023. After the breakup, he was also linked to another singer, although those reports were not confirmed.

Divya Dutta Recalls Shocking Incident Involving Her Sister

0

Actress Divya Dutta recently spoke about a disturbing incident from her past involving her sister and how she reacted to it. She shared that her mother’s teachings gave her the courage to act at the right moment. In an interview with Zoom, she described what happened. “He was about to pinch my sister’s butt, and I just held him. Now, where did that confidence come from? Because I was psyched. It came from my mother.

I just held him and whacked his wits. Everyone turned around, and then everyone came to help. That boy just ran away. This is passing it on, this confidence and standing up for someone you love.”

She explained that her mother always encouraged her to speak up and not stay silent in such situations. Divya also remembered another incident from her childhood. A boy used to tease her when she was returning home from coaching classes. When she told her mother about it, her mother asked her to take a stand and confront him. After she did that, the teasing stopped.

Talking about her career, Divya shared how she handled difficult situations in the film industry. She said that she chose to take her own path instead of compromising. “Your choices speak. I have taken the longer route. I have waited for things when I want to do things my way. And I think it’s a very small industry. People know. When you say a lot of no’s, then afterwards your yeses also come. That takes time. You’ve got to learn how to say no the way shouldn’t be ruffling feathers, but you’ve got to say no.”

She added that learning to say no is important, even if it takes time to get opportunities. According to her, staying firm on personal values eventually earns respect.

Divya Dutta is currently seen in the film Chiraiya, directed by Shashant Shah and produced by SVF Entertainment. The film also features actors Sanjay Mishra, Siddharth Shaw, Prasanna Bisht, Faisal Rashid, Tinnu Anand and Sarita Joshi.

The story of the film raises an important social question about consent within marriage and challenges common beliefs around it.
