Actor Ranbir Kapoor has confirmed that he will be seen in a double role in Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. While he is already playing the role of Lord Rama in the film, he has now revealed that he will also appear briefly as Lord Parshurama.

This detail was hinted at in the recently released teaser of the film, but there was no official confirmation earlier. Ranbir Kapoor spoke about it during a conversation with Collider at the teaser launch event held in Los Angeles.

He explained that both characters have very different personalities, and he worked on changing his body language and voice to match each role. Talking about the connection between the two characters, he said, “Lord Vishnu had different avatars. Lord Rama was an avatar, and Lord Parshurama was an avatar before Lord Rama.”

He further shared his experience of playing both roles and how he prepared for them. He said, “Just to get the opportunity, you know, how I got to play Lord Rama, to also play Lord Parshurama was fantastic. I think as an actor, apart from body language, I think if you deeply understand the spirituality and the emotionality of the characters, I think everything starts from there. I think that’s what I did the year leading up to the shoot of Ramayana, to understand who these people and characters are, what they stand for and what their motives are.”

The teaser of the film also shows a moment where Rama meets Parshurama. According to the epic, this happens when Rama is returning to Ayodhya after marrying Sita. In the story, Parshurama challenges Rama to a fight, but the fight does not happen because he realizes that Rama is also an avatar of Vishnu.

The teaser also features Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Arun Govil as King Dashratha.

Along with Ranbir Kapoor, the film has a large cast. Sai Pallavi will play Sita, while Yash will be seen as Ravana. Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey will play Hanuman and Lakshman. Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh will appear as Mandodari and Surpanakha.

Other actors in the project include Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha and Indira Krishnan.

The first part of Ramayana is planned to release in theatres this Diwali, while the second part is expected to release on Diwali 2027.

Actor Parineeti Chopra has shown support for her husband Raghav Chadha after he was replaced as the deputy leader of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Rajya Sabha. The actress recently shared a video statement posted by Raghav on her Instagram stories, indicating her support for him during the political development.

Raghav Chadha had shared a video titled “Silenced, Not Defeated” after the change in his role within the party in the Rajya Sabha. In the video, he spoke about raising public issues in Parliament and questioned whether doing so had caused problems for him.

He said, “Whenever I get a chance to speak in the Parliament, I raise public issues. And perhaps I raise topics that are not usually raised in the Parliament. But is raising public issues a crime? Have I committed a crime? Have I made a mistake? Have I done something wrong?”

Parineeti Chopra did not add any caption while reposting the video on Instagram. However, her decision to share the clip was seen as a gesture of support for her husband.

The actress has often expressed admiration for Raghav Chadha on social media. In the past, she wrote a note praising him after he spoke in the Rajya Sabha about paternity leave and the importance of shared parenting.

Meanwhile, Raghav Chadha also received support from television personality Rajiv Adatia, who became widely known after appearing on the reality show Bigg Boss 15.

Rajiv Adatia shared a message on Instagram praising the politician. He wrote, “Raghav Chadda is one of the finest politicians India has seen! One of the only politicians to talk about the common man and whose voice is making a change and bringing awareness! Popularity comes with connecting with people! He’s connected with whole Nation! full support to you! Not only for the Man you are but the kindness and understanding you show to the Nation and the common man!”

Actor and writer Piyush Mishra has openly spoken about his long struggle with alcoholism and how it affected different parts of his life. In a recent conversation on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, he described addiction as a serious and dangerous condition that people often fail to recognise in themselves.

He explained how alcohol dependency slowly grows over time. “At one point, you start feeling that drinking alcohol is necessary. Its effect is such that a person wants to drink more. Alcoholism is a deadly disease, and even an alcoholic doesn’t realise that they are one. Even medical science has no cure for alcoholism. There comes a time when, whether you want to or not, you need alcohol, your body craves it. I have felt this myself.”

Piyush also made it clear that despite his struggle, he never drank while working. “I have never acted after drinking, nor have I ever gone to a set drunk. It did affect my life I had an alcoholic mind. While singing ‘Husna’, I had an alcoholic mind while working on Gulaal, I had an alcoholic mind but I did not consume alcohol at that time. I used to drink because of physical craving, and you cannot suppress that craving.”

He spoke honestly about how alcohol changed his behaviour. “After drinking, I did many things that later made me feel, ‘This is not me.’ I had issues with my mother, and I said many hurtful things to her while drunk even after I had realised I should forgive her.”

He also admitted to losing control at times. “I made many inappropriate and obscene phone calls to women, and the next morning I wouldn’t even remember them At that time, I was not in control of myself. I was doing things I didn’t want to do.”

His professional life was also affected. People started finding him difficult to work with, and it began impacting his career.

A major turning point came in 2009 when he suffered a brain stroke. After this, he started taking steps to control his habits. He said he still drinks occasionally but has reduced it significantly with the help of spiritual practices like Vipassana.

He also spoke earlier about how alcohol does not improve creativity. Instead, it made things worse for him. Today, he continues to manage his condition and stay in control.

Salman Khan is known not only for his films but also for helping people in need. Recently, a fan named Reena Raju from Karnataka shared her personal experience of how the actor supported her during a very difficult phase of her life.

Reena had to undergo two heart transplants. Speaking on the Voice of Bengaluru podcast with RJ Sowjanya, she spoke about her connection with Salman Khan and how he helped her during that time.

She said, “I will get emotional speaking about Salman sir. First of all, let me say, I love him with all my three hearts and my soul. When I was not well and before my first heart transplant, I had his number. So many people must message him, but he replied, and I told him I’m going through a heart transplant. He was shooting in Australia at that time. He called on the night of my transplant and spoke to us for almost two hours. He was very kind to my family and encouraged me to go through it.”

She also shared that even after losing touch for two years, Salman remembered her when she reached out again. Reena said she contacted him to tell him about starting her own foundation called Light a Life. In 2018, after her second transplant, she met him in Mumbai at his home.

Talking about that meeting, she said, “He has kindness written all over him. We spent the whole night partying at his house, singing and dancing. Four months after my second transplant, I had diabetes and all kinds of medical issues, but I was having a good time. He took us to the Race 3 sets, and we spent the whole day there. He gifted me a Being Human white bicycle because he remembered that I had messaged him about it long ago.”

Reena said that these moments are some of her most special memories. She added that it is not common to find people who genuinely care in this way.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is currently working on his upcoming film Maatrubhumi, in which he will be seen with Chitrangada Singh. The film is expected to release this year.
